SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND GOING BACK TO WORK.
« on: December 21, 2006, 05:13:41 pm »
I would like to know if anyone can share their experiences with me about having started to collect S.S.I benefits , but also having decided to go back to work to supplement their S.S.I benefits. Having done so did this affect your S.S.I. benefits in any way and if not how did you go about returning to work to work and how long did you wait to do so.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Norgewpb

Supporting You

Hey Norgewpb...

Hello and welcome. With your situation, the SSA does have a program that you can access in order to go back to work. You will want to call their "800" number and they will provide you with the information from there.

Take care of YOU!

Thank you for taking the time to answer to my posting, I'm curious are you on disability and working at the same time.  I ask because I just been on disability for about 4 months but since I was awarded full disability status and benefits, my health has greatly improved and i feel as though i may be able to work on some level part time at least but i fought for three years to get my benefits and i don't want to loose them cause I'm feeling a little bit better.  Anyhow i won't take anymore of your time and again thanks for responding to my posting.

I was on social security years ago.  Be very carefull and follow their rules to the "T".  I wound up having to repay almost $4000.

Peace,
Dennis

Yes, I AM Supporting You!

Hey Norgewp...

Yes, as Dennis (thanks Dennis) had mentioned you will want to make sure you follow their outline to a "T" so that you will not be put in an akward position.

Discuss it when them before going back to work. They will allow you to work part-time but there are provisions with that.
