Title: Gave oral sex (fellatio) To another boy now I'm having ars symptoms help please
Post by: Sk874158 on September 15, 2012, 01:10:20 pm
I gave unprotected oral to a boy who claims he is negative because he has only had sex twice but they where both virgins and he used a condom. Anyway 2 weeks exactly after exposure I developed a sore throat limited to the right side of my throat (it was a VERY mild pain that was more annoying than anything) anyway the day after I the sore throat started I got a headache which lasted about 30 minutes and went away without any medication and six days later I have developed 2 mouth ulcers (canker sores) but they aren't really painful.

I'm so scared I have HIV because many websites state there is a low risk of HIV infection from unprotected oral and now I am having ars symptoms please help I'm terrified ?

You never had an exposure and your symptoms have nothing to do with ARS.

but every page i read it says that sore throats are one of the main symptoms of early hiv infection (ars) and about half mention mouth ulcers also ?

also sorry for being annoying but do seroconversion (ars) symptoms appear all at once together or can they appear indivually one by one.

any replys would be greatly appreciated thankyou ! ?

Mouth ulcers and sore throats are caused by a hundred things. You never had an exposure from oral sex.

Your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. You are worrying needlessly.

The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it. As long as condoms are properly used for those activities you will be well protected against the HIV virus.

You are worrying needlessly. Get on with your life and keep those condoms handy for when you need them.

I imagine that the number of people who use condoms for oral sex can be measured in the, I dunno, hundreds worldwide?

The qualification we use at AIDSMEDS is based on three distinct and separate studies conducted over the course of two decades with serodiscordant couples. We do not rely on anecdotal evidence insofar as HIV transmission is concerned, especially not now, where the current state of the scientific and epidemiological art is as advanced as it is. With more people living longer and healthier lives, a large enough collection of serodiscordant couples has finally emerged to create blind studies where HIV transmission routes can be studied with scientific quantification.

Here are some of the  scientific findings.

No incident HIV infections among MSM who practice exclusively oral sex.
