Hi everyone,
I had unprotected oral sex w/ a man who claimed that he was HIV-negative. I was the giver, and I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. My mouth was not bleeding during intercourse, but the wounds were of course still fresh. I was engaged in giving him head for about 7-10 minutes total. He did not ejaculate in my mouth. I've known him for about a week now (this is the first time we had sex), so I give him more credibility than some random hookup, but if he was infected, what were the chances of transmission via pre-cum?

How long is a piece of string? Since it's never been conclusively documented, there's really no way to know. Most people don't feel up to giving head the day after a wisdom tooth extraction, pain pills notwithstanding.
I don't see where this rises to a level of appreciable risk, as you do NOT have an "open sore," rather two packed extraction sites. Otherwise you'd be bleeding profusely.

Thanks jkinatl2. Also, my friend mentioned the other day that saliva contains anti-HIV proteins. Would this considerably lower the chance of transmission in my case? Thanks.

HIv contains over a dozen elements (enzymes and proteins) that render HIV inert and incapable of infection.
In addition, there have been no fewer then three serodiscordant couples studies lasting three, five and ten years. These studies spanned hundreds of long term couples and two continents. The positive partners had widely ranging viral loads and access to treatment. The couples used barrier protection (condoms) for penetrative anal and vaginal sex, yet no barriers at all for any form of oral sex.
The studies yielded zero infections linked to oral sex.
