You have any favorites?
Or songs that you and your partner (or ex) considered "your song?"
Or dedications?   ;D

ew, cheese LOL j/k

All joking aside, I like "Still the One" (Shania Twain)
"Dreams" (The Cranberries)
"Breathless" (The Corrs)

Edited: Just remembered one ex & I did have a "mock 'our song'" - "Another Night" (by The Real McCoy) ... It was our mock "our song" because we got a kick out of mocking it. Maybe we just didn't want to adopt a real "our song" (hmm, typical male fear of emotions??  :D)

I did have one song that an ex and I considered "our" song. Annie Lennox's version of "Something So Right."

Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

George Eliot, Middlemarch, final paragraph

Oh, as a "straight" pubescent boy, I loved WHAM's "Careless Whispers." My first slow dance ever (but it was with a girl), 7th grade.

I recently downloaded AirSupply's "Making Love Out of Nothing At All."

I love love songs.

This will definitely date me.

My first partner, Steve:  Endless Love
(Steve, dear, I love you and miss you, so please forgive me while I hurl.  It was 1982/1983, so I suppose it's better than something from...say...Xanadu...)

My second partner, Chuck:  Forever and Ever Amen

My favorite:  "The Nearness of You", sung by Sarah Vaughn or Ella Fitzgerald.  Norah Jones did a nice version, too.

Tenacious D
"Fuck Her Gently"

This one always brings a tear to our eyes!

Fuck Her Gently (lyrics)

This is a song
for the ladies
but fellas... listen closely

You don't always have to fuck her hard
in fact sometimes that's not right to do..
Sometimes u got to make some love
and fuckin give her some smooches too..
Sometimes you got to squeeze..
Sometiems you got to say "Please"..
Sometimes you gotta say "Hey,"
"I'm gonna fuck you.. softly"
"I'm gonna screw you gently"
"I'm gonna hump you sweetly"
"I'm gonna ball you discreetly"
and then you say "Hey, I brought you flowers"
and then you say "Wait a minute Sally,"
"I think I got sometin' in my teeth could you get it out for me?"
That's fuckin' teamwork!

What's your favorite posish?
That's cool with me, It's not my favorite but I'll do it for you.
What's your favorite dish?
I'm not gonna cook it but I'll order it from ZANZIBAR!

And then I'm gonna love you completely
Then I'll fucking fuck you discreetly
and then I'll fuckin bone you completely
but then I'm gonna fuck... you hard.....
Hard........

LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A
RIDE!!!

Alberto was a long-distance love, and our song was "Missing" by Everything But The Girl.  Of course, my stupid '90's luck, once he moved in, it was over within a year. Things are much better in the 21st Century!

La Chanson des Vieux Amants, sung by Judy Collins.

Other than that most love songs make me ill...

Oh, I like the love song from Moulin Rouge (Baz's, not the old one), Come what may, but that is probably due more to my love of Ewan McGregor than the song itself.  He has a great voice.

I don't know about your Mom, but I like your nice blue-gray eyes and your beard.  Happy Happy Valentine's Day.   :-*
