Hatefull sign in my yard

 Jay Love for Congress ,  This political billboard is in my front yard and its as big as a pickup truck .
I useally think of myself as a tolerant person but that was challenged when I saw the TV commercial that goes along with the political advertisement in my front yard . He looks like a dumb version of Gomer Pyle and promises to bring conservative Christian values back to washington with him along with a determination to stand up to the liberals who are trying to pass laws allowing gay marrage .

It gets worse .... I live on my stepdads property and Jay Love is his niece's husband , My stepdad knows this is offensive to me and refuses to let me take it down so if I knock the damn sign down there will be no doubt who was behind it .

So I'm sitting looking out of my window at a homophobic billboard with steam coming out my ears , but I'm tolerant .

JG..you are a better person than I am I can't tolerate people like that....but most importantly you are a better person than the rest of them.

My inclination is to leave the sign alone . I truly do believe that Dinosaurs with Ideas like Jay Love's are only a generation from extinction and requires no effort on my part .

 Update ... I just visited Jay Love's campaign web site and emailed him a polite message about how I feel as a gay man with his sign in my yard . I told that in the interest of tolerance  I was going to live with his sign even though I disagreed with it and found it offensive .

I also told him I am a proud gay man that happens to be the stepson of his wife's uncle .
I feel all better now , regardless of what I wrote earlier , doing something or at least having my say made me feel a little better.

I must be missing something here. Why do you have to tolerate a sign in your yard that obviously offends you so much? Isn't it your yard?

 No Matty , the property I live on belongs to my mom and stepdad . I asked if I could remove it and they said no .

God fearing types eh? I was gonna suggest you put up a sign saying "Every time you see a rainbow God's having gay sex" but they probably won't cotton to that either.

Only one thing you can do then dear. Vote Demon-crat.

I'm sorry you have to put up with this, Jeff.  I love the changing the J to a G thing.  And of course the Damned One's postings; those would really show 'em. 

I admire your attitude of how you handled it also.  I wouldn't be able to do this and would probably have made life hell for the person who owned my property.  Hang in there, baby.
