Title: contact with vaginal fluid ?
Post by: hoody on April 06, 2007, 12:50:15 pm
hi there,

i know that unprotected sex is the main reason for transfering hiv.

but i am scared about the following:

i went to a prostitute 4 days ago. she fingered herself for 1-2 minutes. after that, about 2 minutes later,
she touched my WHOLE penis (everywhere, also on top), and 'played' around with it for some time !

we know that vaginal fluid is a fluid which can have hiv in it, right ? and we know that the top of the penis
is a 'door' for the virus to get in.

why is this never described as dangerous practice ? i am a little bit scared now !

It's not a risk. The vaginal fluid is not what carries the high level of the virus, it's the cervical fluid. HIV virus is very fragile and becomes inactive when exposed to air.

The kind of handling and masturbatory situation you described is absolutely not a risk for transmission.

As Rod has indicated, the vaginal fluids accessible in this kind of situation are not a means for transmission of HIV IF the person you were with is HIV+, which you do not know to be so.

There's no need for testing in relation to this incident.

In general we do recommend that anyone who's sexually active is well advsied to have a full STD panel done at least annually and every six months is even better.

This time out there's no cause for further concern about HIV.

Cheers,

hi rapidRod, hi Andy,

to questions:

1) 'exposed to air' is relative.......HOW LONG does it take until it is 'inactive' ? 1 minute, 5 minutes, 3 hours ??????

2) kind of a 'stupid' question: How a man should ever be infected with hiv from a woman when
ONLY the cervical fluid has much hiv in it ? to my knowledge you will NEVER EVER reach that region with a 'normal' penis ?????

hoody,

Can I ask why you are using different usernames while posting to our forums? Thus far, you have also used maxxx (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=5688.0)

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership (http://forums.poz.com/Terms.htm) which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0), which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

I would appreciate a reply to this message, and I hope you will commit to using just one account - preferably your original one. If not, you will be banned from further access to the forums.
