Lambskin Condom - scared
« on: July 12, 2016, 04:41:02 pm »
Hello - thank you in advance for reading my post. This past weekend I had a few too many and hooked up with a male on line. Of course he said he was negative. He offered me a condom that I unwrapped myself. He was bilingual and I believe or imagined that he said they were Lambskin. Since I'm in a committed relationship and strayed I was already feeling guilty. He gave me a Bj while I wore the condominium on only a few time. And then with the condom fully on I inserted and thrusted only a few times. The experience was too much for me as I have not had sex in while. I ejaculated in the condom outside of him. . Of course I feel guilty since I've strayed but my anxiety comes from what I read that Lambskin condoms do not prevent HIV transmission or other STDs. Why I'm also concerned is that the tip of my penis is/was read from grinding at a gay strip club. Jeans/underwear etc. I'm confirmed HSV2. Please help.  How worried should I be. I can't focus at work and my penis feels sore and red. Thanks again.

Hi

I doubt very much that the condom was lambskin
Lambskin condoms are not clear, unlike latex condoms. They are a white/milky color you would have known.

Anyhow nothing else you mentioned made this a risk other than that you fear a lambskin condom was used. If you believe this was the case than simply test in 6 weeks and 13 weeks again to confirm your status.  If this was the only risk you have had since your last negative result I suspect you will be fine.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions. As you are sexually active, it is highly recommended that you get a full sexual health check-up / screening at least annually including but not limited to hiv testing.

Remember that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's. So please do get fully tested regularly for all STI's including HIV and more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs. Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Finally use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, to avoid sexually transmitted hiv infection.

Kind regards

Jim

Thank you for the quick response. It was dark in his room
I believe it was clear but not 100 percent sure. For me and others - if it was Lambskin what are the chances for what I described. I apologize in advance for the follow up. I promise not to ask another. Highly fearful. Kind regards

I highly doubt it was lambskin and you are stressing over a "what if" instead of facts.
I don't do low risk or high risk, it either was or was not a risk.

Thank you for the advice!  Took a Rapid Test today. It's negative - as I learned it's only goes back to April 10 (3 months before the incident). I'm taking an HIV RNA test next weds. I've read that it's good for early detection 9 to 11 days post incident. Is that accurate? Thank you. Might be feeling psychosomatic but my neck is tense, can't sleep and lethargic. Thanks

Hi ,
All tests will have different window periods, so please direct your
questions to the one administering the specific test you are taking.
Any negative result you get is good news, that said guidelines are still to test at 13 weeks to confirm your result.
I also agree with Jim , you are dwelling too much on what ifs and will come out of this Ok.

Best, Wade
