Title: What did you want to be when you grew up?

I ended up a database administrator for 15 years and now I do didlysquat except try and stay chilled, and get far away from the rat race as often as I can........ wish I did have something i always really wanted to do!

Ah yes. The burden of every gay catholic boy. When I was eight, I wondered if I'd be a priest. I guess the desire to be a chicken sexer was stronger than the call of the Church. ;D

hahaha! That's hilarious.

I remember wanting to work in a bowling alley. I thought those guys were so cool...you know, the ones who got to cross the line and walk between the lanes when a pin or ball got stuck in the machine.

Steve... that is funny. I could see myself in a brownish robe, sharing not only prayers with my fellow brothers.

I wanted to be a lawyer like my dad.

Then a doctor ( studied but never finished it).

But as a 3 year old I would look at planes and tell my mom : I want to fly over the whole world and make people happy.

I did work as an airline steward for 18 years and I made a lot of people happy. Lol.

this gives me another clue as to why you and I are such 'soulmates'....I also wanted to be a mortician, but school guidance counselors advised me against it (you know, I was the smart bookish type, they thought I should be more)

I told my Dad I really thought I could help grieving families, etc etc, and he said "oh hell, you just want to put makeup on dead people." ;D

For most of my life, I wantedt o be a doctor (ran the gammut on what specialty), then I got into the medical field and though "OH HELL NO!!!" a decision I'm so glad I came to.
So now I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have been a freakin entry level whatever at Microsoft. As long as it got stock options. ;)

Turned out I did major in Advertising, spent many years in that field but my husband didn't turn out to be a witch (oh, don't go there) and none of his relatives EVER drop by, thank God.

The amusing part of my degree is that at UGA, Advertising is in the Journalism School (and not Business or Arts & Sciences like most other places) so my degree is a Bachelors in Journalism. Yes, I received a BJ. Must be damn good at it, I graduated Magna Cum Laude...
