Looking for pregnancy - Husband positive, I'm negative

Hi all:

My husband is being nondetectable for more than a year now and we though about the option to get pregnant. His doctor said it would be ok to go for a natural option and I wanted to go through the treatment (truvada) to reduce the chances. The doctor send me the meds and we started on March.  I thought it would be faster for us to get pregnant and I'm not sure if to continue with this natural method and increase the exposure or to go for fertilization methods like sperm washing.

Somebody here has gone through a plan pregnancy with a HIV + partner? What options have you tried? For how long did you try? My concern is that it was supposed to be for a short time we having relations without condoms and now is being longer and not sure if I should continue.

End of the day its your choice how you reduce risk, but to me it sounds like you are a little over worried. Look if you're husband is truly UD for more than 6 months and remains adherent to his treatment and UD that way the risk is negligible to start with.

You have combined this with PrEP as an additional peace of mind to you during the time that you try to get pregnant. Sounds like overall a solid plan and no need to be concerned if you are asking me.
