Fingering and sucking on fingers
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:25:43 pm »
Hi,

I had a remedial massage a couple of days ago. I unexpectedly became aroused and the male masseuse starting giving me a handjob. He also inserted his fingers into my ass and I sucked on his fingers.

Now,

* I have a history of anal fissures.
* I did have some blood in my mouth from gingivitis and small abrasions in my mouth. The blood was noticiable brushing my teeth 2 hours prior

I didn't see any cuts, abrasions or blood on his hands (i had my eyes closed mostly) but am I at risk of HIV? Should I get tested?

Fingering is not a risk for HIV, regardless of having a history of anal fissures, and sucking on fingers, no matter your dental hygiene (gingivitis), is not a risk for HIV infection.

There is no need for you to be tested for HIV because of this incident.

Read how HIV is transmitted in the "footer" of this message.

What if he had some cuts on his fingers that I didn't see?

He did not have "cuts" on his fingers that you did not see (what does that even mean?).  Was he "Edward Penis hands?"   Stop it. That is not the way HIV is transmitted, end of story.  Move on with you life.

Patrick has told you the truth, its not a risk.

HIV needs to be present for it to be a risk, and than in quantity now this is simple a small cut or superficial wounds might seem fresh to you, but in terms of HIV it is simply not. Now unless he was covered in blood and actively bleeding from a deep would, as it blood running out of his finger (you would have noticed and mentioned it) than you simply had no risk.

Besides there has simply never been a documented case of HIV transmission via fingering, for good reason - Its not a risk. You will not be the world first. Sucking on his finger is also not a risk.

Move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim
