Genvoya interaction with vitamine D and supplements
« on: September 08, 2020, 01:52:16 pm »
Hello! Of course I know that I will have to consult with a specialist HIV doctor but today my family doctor proposed vitamin D as a way to shield against flu in the midst of the pandemic and the extra caution we all need to take. I quickly checked if interactions are foreseen for Genvoya and found that vitamin D3 cholecalciferol (alone) poses no issue while calcium supplements and vitamin D3 cholecalciferol (in multivitamins) may pose an issue causing interactions. Does anyone know anything about it? I would never dare to spoil my therapy and great work Genvoya is doing just to take a vitamin. Thanks in advance

I would look for the natural route to increase my intake. Sun shine if possible, food. Many foods are rich in vitamin D. Fish, cheese, eggs. Fortified fruit juices.
I always try to find the natural route. I started on the fatty fish when I read of the benefits of vitamin D in resisting respiratory infections.
