GOOD NEWS, I'M BI.....
« on: October 02, 2008, 02:44:14 pm »
Bipolar that is, and it is good news, since therapy and antidepressants have not helped much.  For many years I have dealt with severe mood swings that have swung at the drop of a hat.  Each depressed episode has lasted longer, been worse and caused more problems than the previous episode.  It is difficult to function when one is irritable all the time, unable to focus, constantly tired yet unable to sleep and having compulsive behaviors that cause problems.   I am starting Lamictal and hoping that things improve so that I can take action in other areas of my life that need improvement but meds can't help.  I actually feel better just knowing how to attack the problem.

Hey Woodsy,

It always makes me feel better once I really know what the problem is.  Good luck with the Lamictal.  Let us know how it goes.

Hi Wood,

I was just referred to your thread, as I posted the question in the "Living with section" : Am I bipolar or just depressed.?

I have experienced moodswings, very sudden ones, that can make me swing form hallelujah to I want to die. No kidding.

What tests did they perform ? How are your "manic episodes"? Lot's of energy, looking at the bright side of life, feeling like your heart bounces out of your chest, and just roaring through life??? Attracting people like flies???
I wonder..
When the depressive faze starts I can instantly lock myself into my apartment, cancel all appointments and sort of disappear form the globe, plus I do get suicidal, telling myself I don't want to go on with these moodswings.

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks
