Hi All,

I see so few of the old familiar names   :(   I guess I should drop in more to keep up with where everyone is and how ya'll are doing.

I realized it's my 15 year anniversary, and I couldn't think of anyone else but you guys that I could really share it with. 

They gave me 5 years, then I hit that 10 year mark and had to start fighting for my life, now here it is 5 years later, and I'm still fighting.

It's good to hear from you. Even though I have never been in contact with you, I think of you from time to time. You just keep on fighting, we're fighting right along side of you.

Current Meds ; Viramune / Epzicom Eliquis, Diltiazem. Pravastatin 80mg, Ezetimibe. UPDATED 2/18/24
 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 UPDATED: As of April, 2nd 2024,Viral load Undetectable.
CD 4 @593 /  CD4 % @ 18 %

Lymphocytes,total-3305 (within range)

cd4/cd8 ratio -0.31

cd8 %-57

72 YEARS YOUNG

so good to hear from you.  You sound good.  Are all those ugly episodes from the past gone?  Are you 'relatively' healthy?  Considering what you've been through, I think you'll be around for a long, long time.

Happy anniversary. I hope in some ways the fight's easier based on your years of experience with HIV. (None would be best) That's a cute cat. It looks like the Cheshire Cat to me.

 Hello Nancy:

  I don't think I've ever met you before but I always get happy for those who have been given a short period of life expectancy and have lived much longer than that. I know how that feels because by the time I began my treatments I was in pretty bad shape with a high level of vl and cd4's low, but I got my mind to convince myself that I was going to pull slowly through and I did. That was about 22 years ago. I've healthy and "undetectable" at the moment. Don't know how long that's going to last but I try not even to think about it and put my thoughts to other more positive things! Good luck and good health to you always... :)

Hi Annie & Alan

 - Cats are doing great.  I'm actaully going to an awards banquet this week-end to get an award for getting one of them up into the top 20 in the SW U.S. Region.  It's totally totally out of my comfort zone!!!  We have babies year round now, so a never boring around here!!  It averages around 40 cats (including kittens)

I'm doing ok right now.  I"m still having to do the biopsies every 3 months, and I've been told to expect to have more surgery.  Luckily my numbers are higher then then have been in YEARS!!  I've actually gone from below 20 to up into the low 500's with 32%.  So it's keeping the HPV in check a bit.

I'm still a ex-smoker and ex-drinker!!  But I'm finding for the first time in my life, I've had to start fighting weight gain  :'(

Thank you to those who I don't know that wished me well.

And allopathicholistic ... I promise I won't tell my prize Bengal boy that you said he looks like a tabby cat ;)

Congratulations on the anniversary - and on the cat advances (if that is the right term).

I am glad to hear your counts are up and I understand fully when you say you are fighting the "battle of the bulge." I am too since I quit smoking.

could be my post too! I'll start one brand-new topic to introduce myself on the community but just wanted to put my hand on the other 15-years-old hiv's shoulder, nancy's hiv. A 15-years-old virus-girl, (nancy's) and a 15-years-old virus-guy, mine! :)
But we all four are fighting, and proud to fight! Life is a struggle, but it's worth to fight for it.
