« on: August 21, 2021, 08:09:16 am »
so about a year ago i made an unwise decision to sleep with a woman of unknown status unprotected(vaginal only). after a couple weeks i got all the acute symptoms like loss of appetite, weight loss, flu symptoms l, sore throat fatigue, etc. after a week or so some symptoms stopped. after first few months my lymph nodes under armpits/neck were sore(slightly painful) i assumed lymph nodes.sometimes dizziness,  i had a sore throat that would not go away for several weeks at a time and come and go. i started to get rashes on arms and hands mostly. they come and go and i still get them now. i still have extreme fatigure like its such a weird out of body feeling like i was drunk/off balanced. i had leg and arm aches still til today. i went and got checked a few weeks after encounter  and they said i tested positive for covid-19. i felt relieved for a while but all the symptoms continued months after. i was too afraid to test for hiv but got cbc and everything was clear. i know i was stupid snd situation was risky but ima wreck please help me and let me know if its possible i can be negative even though i have had so many symptoms for so long! ive never felt this way and it happened shortly after encounter

Hiya,

Sorry to hear about the covid and keep working with your healthcare provider on treating the issues. Nothing you mentioned is HIV specific.

Regarding HIV,  you had condomless intercourse and the only way to know your HIV & STI status is to get tested. Get tested.

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and, the only way of knowing is by testing.

Kind regards

Jim

Go see your healthcare provider, treat whatever is making you feel unwell. Most of what you posted would have nothing to do with HIV from the concerned encounter regardless of your HIV status.

As for HIV, test to know your status.
