Help. I am having a hard time being single. It scares the crap out of me.
divorced 5yrs, still in court fighting to father my 7 year old daughter. recently started to open up to women again.
I am unused to the amount of sex energy coming at me. One of the warnings of the yogic path I follow is having to deal with being more attractive. Sex karma is heavy. HIV laws are horrifying. i have been practicing 5 years so this is new.
I am looking for some support. I am 46 years old and like to dance. I recently started going out and cannot believe what girls today want to do on the dance floor! My body wants to F%$K them all!!
i am a responsible man so i don't go f%^king around but I have been shutting my sexuality down allot. It is unhealthy. any advice on healthy safe, uncomplicated ways of playing with sex energy would be great.
this situation is as scary as it is great. Hell I could play HIV laws by the #'s and all she has to do is lie and me and my families life goes to hell. i have major trust issues right now, but still need a woman! arg..
The last time I hung out at this site was to get advice dealing with full blown AIDS. My current doctor believes I was misdiagnosed because she can see no trace of the trauma in my body. I wanted to share that for anyone considering (traditional) yoga.

Are you saying you don't have teh AIDS anymore -- as in no antibodies detected?

use a condom and/or stay adherent to meds to stay undetectable

trauma has nothing to do with HIV. If you received a Western blot positive, you have HIV. period. What kind of doctor believes you were "misdiagnosed"? You should be seeing an Infectious Disease doctor to treat HIV.

Thank goodness the rest of us are shit-ugly and therefore used to stigma.

HIV being a curse is so 80's. Been there done that! :o And the irony is, I saw many not so sexy people also suffering. Even (gasp) straight people and children.

Fondoo you are going to get some ridicule unless you clarify some parts of your story.
Most important - you mean you think never have "full blown AIDS"? Well that is a pretty loose term and sometimes not so meaningful in this day and age. Some people who once had very low numbers, DO have spectacular results from HAART meds, and reconstituted immune systems. I am guess this is what you mean. (You don't mean that you are not HIV+ anymore, right?)
2) So what state do you live in with the tough HIV tranmission and disclosure laws? Please list here, exactly what you are up against, if you hope to get useful advice. If there are no laws abotu DISCLOSURE, then half the evil has been avoided and less a chance of "he said, she said" being a problem.
3) You can call it a curse, OK, I understand that feeling, but thinking like that does not seem particularly suited to the peace of mind yoga might help create.
4) Obviously the one great way to get your freak on regularly without anxiety would be to have an HIV+ lover. Or a lover who knows your status and 100% an deal with it.. Yeah, I know, not wo easy to find.

I just needed to blow off some steam.I took a girl out from tango class, second date she asks me about sex disease.
I tell her about HIV and get dumped. I just need to harden up a bit. Most HIV lovers would have to relocate to Hawaii so it is tough.
I forget this is no place for "me" to find emotional support. Thank you all for the help in the past. If I need some medical info or what not I will come back.

I think we've been awfully gentle and kind, considering the original post in this thread. Sometimes it's hard to read intent into the written word, and going on at some length about your sex energy and attractiveness might, to some, seem less like a self-aware statement and more like, perhaps, over-the-top arrogant narcissism.
I rather think, under the appropriate light, I'm freaking adorable. But I don't go on and on about it.

Wish you the best - remember, sometimes the response given is directly in line with the post (or lack of initial clarity in it). For better or worse, many thousands of people have found support here - sometimes it does not come in the form they would prefer it to, but they find it supportive nevertheless.
Hope you find what you are looking for - just remember that sometimes what we are looking for isn't always what we actually need. Sometimes what we need comes in a way that is uncomfortable, but keeps us alive and helps us move further in our journey.

That's great.
And why do you think you should still have MAC or PCP. The body can heal, you know. I'm glad your immune system is doing fine!
About the other stuff, not sure what rubbed you the wrong way.
But if you care to actually explain what the HIV laws you are so worried about, maybe people can discuss this. Many have given the same questions a lot of thought. I don't see why you need to bolt this forum. After all, we aren't here to hook up with each other, or to provide you a list of eligible partners. Why not discuss the interesting the topic you introduced, above?

I dont really do any Yogi stuff, but being super attractive and having all the sex thrown at me is a daily curse for me. It can be tough. I feel your pain brother.

Do you mean lovers of HIV, as in folks that are smitten with the virus, need Hawaiian beach therapy ?
Or; People in love, serodiscordant I assume, need to relocate to Hawaii to deal with the stress of the relationship.
Rest assured my friend when I've traveled to Hawaii, we were married on Kauai, my HIV made the trip there and back unaffected and fully intact. Dealing with a virus was no more, or no less, difficult (tough) no matter the location. Admittedly a Mai Tia or three left me less concerned temporarily but in the morning nothing had changed.
Extensive and nightly research revealed that the best Mai Tia on the island of Kauai was found at Kalypso Bar and Grill.

I have spoken to some of my *younger* galpals in NZ and the consensus is, that partaking in his delights just isn't worth the airfare and travel time, not without some photographic evidence of this rampant sex machine, maybe some of the locals will find him appealing...or maybe not, who knows.

Might be ok if he stumps up for the airfare and a nice four-star hotel! And if one wasn't all that impressed with him, I'm sure he could be given the slip. There's plenty of other sexy men in Hawaii who wouldn't mind a tryst with a sexy, poz woman, regardless of their own hiv status. That's what they make condoms for!
