unable to orgasm
« on: September 26, 2010, 07:55:25 am »
For nearly a year now I have been unable to achieve an orgasm. I sure would love to have one, or more, daily even. This is not a side effect of meds, as this problem predates my diagnosis. #1 is this a common symptom of hiv/aids? #2 is there anything i can do to solve this issue?!

Are you able to get and maintain an erection?

Hello Zach,

For the year,(maybe longer)  leading up to your diagnosis on July 5th,2010 your immune system was in pretty bad shape.  I also had a low t-cell count in 2003. This was 18 years after I was diagnosed positive.  I had 16 t-cells with a viral load over 500,000.  My percentage at that time was about 4 or 5%.

I can also remember very well, that during that period of time my sex drive was pretty much non-existant.  Trying to maintain an erection and achieving an orgasm was almost impossible.

I will tell you this though , as my immune system started repairing, those erections started coming back again. And quite honestly, i don't have a problem having an orgasm two to three times a day now.  I am not sure of your age, but I am almost 59.

I would talk to your doctor about and see what he says. There are other things your doctor can check.

i'm 35, and once up, i don't have much of a problem maintaining an erection, indeed that is the problem, to much show without the big finale so to speak... i have noticed my libido is nowhere near what it used to be, i fully realize my sexual appetites got me into this mess in the first place, but still

Zach, what meds are you on aside from Atripla? Some antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds and some painkillers can interfere with your ability to come.

Yoga, and e.g. ginger  works wonders. It enhances the bloodcirculation of all organs  and also the pelvis area. I must say that I clearly see the difference since I started to practice yoga 1 year ago.. or should I say FEEL the difference.

Good suggestion Fondoo
