Status update - Living with HIV and addiction
« on: May 11, 2019, 09:32:53 am »
A year ago I posted here about my crystal addiction and I am proud to be back to say I am clean for nearly 11 months now and do not even think about it anymore.

Not only I am clean, but also I took a big step towards making a childhood dream of mine come true. I am admitted to my Med School of preference and will be following the footsteps of my dad who is a Surgeon. I am likely to pursue family practice due to my relatively older age :)

My brain has completely healed, my cognition is strong, I have rebuilt my lean muscle mass and my outlook on life is very bright.

I have never been ashamed to ask for help to get remedies for my psychological health just like I am not ashamed to go see a doctor for my physiological health whenever needed.

I have self-identified the cause of my addiction as the "lack of meaningful social connections" which resulted from self-isolation after my diagnosis.

I am committed to the best of my ability to assist those having any type of issues related to HIV (whether be it psychological problems, medication access, etc) as well as those who has addiction/substance dependence issues.

That is wonderful! Lack of social connection leads so many to seek out chemical connection. Maintain the muscle mass as best you can during study....
