UK and Atripla

Hi everybody
I guess this question is directed at those living in the UK but I would be grateful for up-to-date info from anyone anywhere!  I am in the USA at present and have been on Sustiva and Combivir for one year.  I had to change my ID consultant last month and my new doc would like me to go on Atripla.  Not for any dire reason but that is the one she would have put me on initially and thinks it would be better suited to me generally.  However, I am wanting to go home to Scotland next year (for good) and the big question is 'Is Atripla prescribed there?'  Now I now it was approved recently but knowing the good old NHS and its post code lottery when it comes to health care, are they actually prescribing it?

I believe it is quite costly and I do not want to switch to a medication I will not be able to access next year.  I am not having any great probs with my meds at present (apart from losing weight in arms/face/legs - cannot believe I could be having lipo so soon after starting meds and with the new ones being so good - am hoping it is just an 'age' thing!) - and although my VL is undetectable and went so fairly rapidly, my CD4s aren't exactly shooting through the roof as yet.  Still slow and steady is better than nothing!

Anyway, have been researching the internet and as yet haven't got any answers to the Atripla question.  I have also been trying to research how many poz folks there are in my rural neck of the woods in Scotland and so far it looks like I would raise the numbers to a vast 19 when I return!!!  Was really hoping I might be able to meet up with some + folks there, and hoping for a good support group (was even thinking of starting one myself) but it looks like there isn't/won't be a great demand!  (Which is, in the scheme of things, good of course!). 

Hope someone out there can help me out here.

Atripla is (1) prescribed in the UK, including Scotland, for people on combo undetectable for 6+ months (2) free in NHS clinics.

The alternative (efavirenz + Truvada) is only 2 pills 1 x day, and, for the NHS, should cost the same

Scotland has over 4,000 HIV-positive folk, mostly in Glasgow and Edinburgh
