Hello I will have been poz 21 years officially in the beginning of August. But was infected three years before some one asked me how can you be sure because before I got sick had been with one person.Besides the point you asked if any of the long timer felt the virus the answer is yes and some time hear a imaginary clock ticking and my doctor got concerned so that is how I feel.It makes it hard that I am no longer part of a couple but he is there when I need.Less problems now!Love has always been there but not enough to be a couple.Oh well a lot happier!

Hi Kimmie

I'm not a LTS..and shouldn't really be in here but being a global Moderator I can get away with it, but for the most part I just try and slip in now and again and quietly slip out before anyone notices me.. ;D

I just wanted to welcome you to the forums, I'm sure after 24 years you can give us a few lessons, and along with the other LTS help those who are new to all this.

Hope to hear more from you.

Hugs
Jan

Hey Irish,

Welcome to the forums.  I've been diagnosed 20 years.  I don't know if I'm clear in what you're asking about lts'ers "feeling their virus."  Yeah, I'm more tired than I used to be, oh, lots more things.  But, I'm still alive.  That's worth something.
  Luv,
Betty

And Jan, you're o.k. to slink is once in awhile I suppose. ;)

hi you guys and thanks u for welcoming me in the site it ben interesting so far and yes sure Jan any time u would like me to help those newly poz i will gladly help them with some reassuring words , OK   what i mean about feeling the virus !!!!! is i feel it when my tablets are wreaking i feel it when they are not wreaking i feel it when i am going down hill and also feel it when i am UN top off the world with it , if Ur in tune with Ur hiv u also can feel it Ur self i dint know some off u heard of PMA  positive mental attuned in which i live on every day of my life , this might sound really daft to some of u lot .

but while u lay in bed close your eyes and think off u in side Ur veins think off Ur virus being a army that is coming to attack you , and u are on the other side of it think that u alone, as the virus is coming to kill u that you are beating it with every thing u can get Ur hands or bats, sticks  your fists i know it might seem silly but trust me if u can do that then u can connect with your  virus  and then u can tell Ur virus what to do not it tell in you what it is going to do , i think it is about finding ur innner self , but trust me it works look how long i have lived for and last yr was the first time i EVER got sick . TRY IT   and let me know

Well, I did visulation ( such as the above)  20 years ago. It just seemed that after a few years it had no more meaning for me.  Not to say it isnt a useful practice, but I personally felt it held no useful purpose for me anymore.
I think in the early years of being infected everyone should try some form of stress reduction.  Whatever works for you.  Whether it has any affect on CD4s or longevity...who knows.

Yeah, I used visualization also in the early-middle 90's.  I still got very sick.  It sounds very Bernie Seagel-ish.  For anyone who may not know, he was a doctor who treated cancer patients, and they would visualize their body attacking the cancer.  He was around in the early 90's, a lot like the Louise Hayes' were.

Like Joel said, whatever works.

I did the visualization thing in the 90's also; we tried it ALL back then, crystals, rei kei, you name it....

It certainly did help!   Like Joel, I find it doesn't work much for me anymore.   I think the best way to deal with my virus is to NOT think about it!  I am just so thankful my meds have it under control, and so blessed to still be alive to enjoy each day.   But believe me, I get plenty of reminders....the pills, the bills, the endless trips to the clinic for this and that.....sure wish I could take a "viral vacation" for a few weeks!

Welcome to the LTS forum!

hugs, Alan
