Your Username Meaning?
« on: April 25, 2023, 07:17:13 am »
Does your Poz Forum Username have any particular meaning for you, does it represent something to you or what?

Me, the username Loa111 means absolutely nothing, in fact when I was Dx'ed, I was scared to even post on here, so I wanted to pick a username that meant nothing & was not linked to me in anyway. I was reading a book around that time on the Law of Attraction or L.O.A. as it was abbreviated to, and just thought, that is something random & anonymous, let's start there, hence Loa111.

What about you?

;D ;D ;D ;D LOL It look me a few seconds to spot that one Jim! That's quite a unique username for sure!  :o
I suppose we all could have that for a name too, otherwise most of us wouldn't be here in the first place!  8)

Well my first username was "Jim Dublin" on the forums, so Jim from Dublin. Changed my username when I became moderator as everyone knows I'm living with HIV and I don't care.

ok, so I've been on the net long enough that most of my usernames are leatherman while a few are leathermanmikie. heck! I used to be leatherman@prodigy.com way back in 90 or 91 using a 9600bit/s dialup landline modem to download porn. LOL I was a computer nerd back then, and young, hot and horny. :) I joined here in 99 when it still known as aidsmeds.com

Nowadays though, I'm 61 living the married life in a small town and not rocking the leathers like I used to. If I could just get back down from a 30 to a 29, my leather pants would fit again. Thankfully though my old school x-type harness has always fit right. So after all these years, I'm still leatherman and the Dom in my house  8)

other odd bits of name or HIV related trivia about mikie:

my domain reigningpages.com is based on my old computer biz called reigning pages, which is based on the old pet store with my first partner called It's Reigning Pets, which is based on the name of our first of 11 cocker spaniels named Apollonia's Purple Reign, which is based on the movie/album by Prince called Purple Rain.

My first tattoo was the background graphic face from the Prince song/video When doves cry from Purple Rain.
And the last of my 5 tats is a biohazard symbol on my lower back - and that is all about the HIV.
leatherman (aka Michael)

We were standing all alone
You were leaning in to speak to me
Acting like a mover shaker
Dancing to Madonna then you kissed me
And I think about it all the time

                 ojo.               Hello all!!!

My previous user name was pochas, my ex’s nickname. Around 10 years ago, I met on the forum vivir con VIH, a member, who became my friend that I even met personally in Mexico. He was diagnosed with aids with only 92 cd4, he started treatment and his numbers went up to 320 soldiers and became UD, a year later he was dead, non-Hodgkin’s, lymph Phoma. When he was in the hospital, I was telling him that I wasn’t fair that I, who has been living with the virus way longer than him. I didn’t had to deal with something like his cancer, even talking that I was going to stop participating on this forum, he told me to talk to it, because I had no idea how much I helped him during his diagnosis. So, when he died, I decided to change my user‘s name to his name, obviously, I had to make a little change to his user name, he was known as TONNY, and my users name is
TONNT2, I never asked him why two “Ts”. I am using his name and his honor, and because he is the first person, a friend, who die from it, a cancer related to aids. since then, like 10 years ago, I lost another friend to a different kind of cancer also related to  aids, my best friend, a guy that I knew for 30 years…hugs

Ps forgive my typos, they are my cell phone’s fault, I am dictating

For mine, I’m an accountant and also so much of the community here revolves around our medical status, so numbers has a duel meaning- oh and I was born in 1982.

Loving this post and discovering more about the users on here!
