You can briefly glimpse the Rock at about 0:26/0:27 as they zoom in for a close-up of Scotland.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I do have a soft spot for him, it's true. He married a woman he didn't really love - because he had to have an heir or two and at the age of 32 the pressure was on - and people and events conspired against his early relationship with Camilla, the love of his life.

It's a shame he didn't marry Camilla the first time around, but at least they're happily together now. I didn't agree with them screwing around behind Diana's back, but who the hell am I to judge? I'm no angel myself. (I know, shocking!)

I wouldn't call myself a Royalist and I don't follow them in the news, but I do have an appreciation for the royal family. Charles is such an odd-bod, quirky, funny and serious by turns. And don't get me started on that geezer who is his father. I've got a lot of respect for the Queen (as a strong woman and all that), but she's had her dubious moments too. Who hasn't? Strange family all-round.

I only knew about Charles presenting the weather because I had BBC Radio 2 on in the background and the presenters were laughing about it, so I googled it, thought it was funny and decided to share. :)

I don't care for some of his anti-modernist architecture BS, but I do appreciate his stances on local food, and in fact he's bee way ahead of the curve on that one.

I don't think his quasi-liberal ass would be a bad King -- in fact there's a bit of big-L liberal in that entire family... blame Victoria and Albert.

Now those hangers-on 2nd and 3rd tier royals need to be cut off, and rest of the aristocracy as well (the ones that don't really do muh but show up for polo)

I like his promotion of local foods too, as well as his promotion of sustainable, affordable organic food production. And of course there's that whole "talking to plants" thing he's got going on.

I think he'd make a good king too, if the queen ever decides to give him a chance at it. She's healthy as all get-out and I believe she's stated that she has no intention of stepping down. He's the longest serving heir-apparent in British history. It wouldn't surprise me if she keeps on ticking and he winds down first, and William ends up on the throne instead of Charles.

I don't know much about the second and third-tier royals - I just don't pay that much attention to them. I don't think they get to live off the state these days like they used to, but I could be wrong. Like I said, I don't pay that much attention to them.

I see the Daily Fail has more photos and a longer video that includes Camilla giving the same weather presentation. She doesn't do nearly as good a job as Charles - she looks and sounds all uptight and nervous. And she clicked off the map too soon, probably because she kept practically wringing the remote in her hands.

They also visited the set of the game show Eggheads, which is always on in my local at tea-time as the landlord loves that show.

They were actually here on the Rock a couple weeks ago visiting in general and while they were here, they officially opened the recently revamped and updated (EU regulations bullcrap) fishyards here in Peel. My bf's family owns one of the processing yards and theirs was the one chosen to be toured. Most of their employees are Eastern Europeans and my bf's aunt was telling us before the event how difficult (and what a laugh) it was teaching the EE women how to curtsey. ;D

I didn't attend the event - I was too busy moving house.

Actually "Cool Chuck" did not do too bad as a "weather person".  :D

Chuckie and CamCam have grown on me... in fact, they may turn out to be much more fun than Willers and KatieKate.

... and then there's Prince Harry. They should just cut to the chase with him and make him King just based on the idea of Great Fun. Also, he should marry an American girl just to freak everyone out.

Great idea - I love it! He could attend his coronation in that Hitler outfit he freaked everyone out with a few years ago. He could also compromise and marry my daughter - she's half Yank, half Brit. The lad she's been with for the last five years looks quite a bit like Harry and he's also a soldier-boy, so maybe they could be switched and she wouldn't notice. ;D

She'd kill me if she knew I said that. I live dangerously. :o
