US to UK conversion
Ted Kennedy = That guy who resigned because he loved the juice
John Kerry = Gordon, tax and spend, Brown
Bill Clinton = Tony B' Liar
Colin Powell = Dave, I love the environment-my ass, Cameron
George Bush = John, I'm incompetent, Major
Ronald Reagan = Good old Maggie Thatcher

It depends on the darn issue! >:(

This is voting on a cult of personality, not ideology. Sorry no can do.

in homage to "JUST SAY NO" (nancy reagan) i chose ronnie reagan for this (it's all in fun right?)

No surprise here...extremely progressive liberal who values people over business, healthcare over taxes and love over war.
-
I can't vote because you didn't include a "none of the above" option.
::) ;D

Cliff,
You had me at the title and then I came in and saw the choices.
First off, I am proud to say I am none of the examples, and lean towards none of them, as I don't know anything about any of them; outside their very wealthy and polished staff reports and PR releases. Cliff, you have to be kidding to think that I would fall for this survey. ;D
As for myself, I have been called both liberal, and conservative, it all depends on the person doing the judging, and the issue we are talking about.
I would probably stand with Lincoln, and Eisenhower, and end up being called a "Centrist".
I prefer independent thought, and fiscal responsibility. I want to be involved in my neighborhood, (except for those assholes across the street that don't respect anyone, or themselves, and their kids are delinquints in the making). I want to support welfare for those that really need it, ( haven't seen but about three of them in the last 50 years).
You see Cliff, there is no way I can relate to the list you have given, due to the fact that there is not one person on the list I would want to emulate.
Sorry.
IN Love.

doh! I knew I forgot something.

of course.... ;D

Now, who was this Eisenhower fella? ;D Well Tim if you can't choose between one, I say flip a coin. Me, I'm a toss-up between Maggie and B' Liar. I flipped the coin and it said I was a Gordon Brown. Damn! So I pissed on the coin. Down with Brown. Lucky for him though, I can't vote.

Yuck. I don't like any of the choices. I keep hoping for an enlightened and honest political leader. Dream on....
-
My bad....I thought we were voting on the cutest Backstreet Boy. Now that Kevin has quit the group I don't know what to do.
Here in America we don't like to mix our politics with voting.

totally proud to be liberal.
in fact, i lean to hard to the left, i'm probably on Dick Cheney's shitlist.
-
Pretty stinking liberal here, though in a pragmatic sort of way....
Clinton ;D
-
A vote for Bush? Ok Jake, come out and say something.
I think I drink like a Kennedy, Fuck like Clinton (Ya, I wish) and fight like the pit bull Bush. No Kerry traits in me at all and I’m not an ass wipe puppet like Powell. (Whom I use to respect and would have voted for president)

Registered independent here. I look at the person ('s philosophies) rather than their party affiliation.
One problem with some (not all) Democratic candidates is they are rather 'soft' on crime.
In local elections I tend a bit more towards Republican candidates because Democrats seem to favor increasing taxes...property taxes speciificially. I am tired of having to pay for and subsidize County services which I've never used and never will (eg. schools.) I think there should be a differential so that people with one, three, five, kids in schools pay a higher property tax than someone such as myself who has no children.
I'm not anti-tax...but I think taxes since they're mandatory...should go only for necessary items and not 'nice to have' stuff that isn't truly needed. Let those things be funded by those that use them.
