Cunnilingus is not a risk for HIV transmission. Your saliva has over a dozen enzymes and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of HIV. There is nothing HIV-specific about the "symptoms" you are reporting.

If your sore throat or rash persist you should discuss them with your doctor. Ditto for your wife's sore throat. She should discuss them with her doctor as well if it continues.

My guess is you have straying husband syndrome. Guilt can make you see problems where there really aren't any. You did what you did and you can't undo it. Take a breath and let it go. This is not an HIV situation. Period.

Thanks for quick reply
can I just clarify a couple of points my wife has had sickness and direre bad for a whole day now I think she only has a sore throat becouse of the amount she's been sick but is the sickness related
I don't have any rash anywhere but I just am very itchy espealy on my face for a few days now
I'm concerned over the incident becouse I beleve I could have cut my tounge while pushing it into her,
finnally like I said she was old and very skinny dose the skinny part suggest HIV
and I told my wife I did it a week ago as she cought me crying I did not mention my HIV fears though
thanks again

Idiot,

Nothing you mention symptom wise for either of you suggests hiv. As for the sex worker being skinny, you cannot tell if a person has hiv by looking at them.

You absolutely did not have a risk for hiv infection whether or not you had a cut under your tongue. As Andy told you, not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Hiv transmission doesn't stand a chance of happening via female genitals to mouth - there are just too many obstacles on the oral route.

The first obstacle is the mouth itself. The mouth is a veritable fortress, standing against all sorts of pathogens we come into contact with every minute of our lives. It's a very hostile environment and saliva has been shown to contain over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv.

Hiv is a very fragile virus - literally. Its outer surface doesn't take kindly to changes in its preferred environment; slight changes in temperature, moisture content and pH levels all damage the outer surface. Importantly, it needs this outer surface to be intact before it can latch onto a few, very specific cell types and infect.

Which leads to the second obstacle. Hiv can only latch onto certain types of cells, cells which are not found in abundance in the mouth.

The third obstacle to transmission this way is having hiv present in the first place. The female secretion where hiv has been shown to be present is the cervicovaginal fluid. This fluid is actually a thick mucus that covers and protects the cervix.

The fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, located on either side of the vaginal opening. I have yet to discover one shred of evidence (and believe me, I've looked) that shows this lubricating fluid to have any more hiv present than other bodily secretions such as saliva, sweat or tears. Saliva, sweat and tears are NOT infectious fluids.

So there you have it. Once the results of the serodiscordant studies** started rolling in, what we know about hiv transmission on the cellular level was validated. The only people who were getting infected were those who had unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Period. One of the three studies went on for ten years and involved hundreds of couples. That's a lot of nookie.

**There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Thanks ann and andy
I'm sorry for this but since my last post I tried to find the reason behind my itching and I typed in itchy skin and STD into google, this was before Reading anna reply , typicle it came up with a aids HIV site and said Seborrheic dermititis  couses dry greasey skin that can be yellow or White and flakey it courses itching behind the ears in the ears on the nasolble  the lip and on the trunk they said it was a typical ssyptom associated with HIV .. I've had constant itching in these places so although your replys are great I'm now even more scared what if I'm one of the first poeople to catch HIV by oral, is this a typical early syptom or one that comes much later on in the illness?
Also just been up to check on my wife she's still feeling bad and now she has a headach and lower back pain I know this is unlikley but if I did have HIV would I have passed it on so quick.
Please please try and answer my questions as I'm going out my mind again
please be patient with me as I don't know so I'm realy worried
thanks again

This is not an HIV situation. Period.

As I suggested previously, you and your wife should discuss your "symptoms" with your doctors. They have nothing to do with HIV. And I am going to warn you that if you continue to return with more what ifs about your incident, you are going to find yourself getting a Time Out from this site for 28 days.

No matter what else you add about this incident, HIV is not your problem. Get on with your life.

You never had an exposure and you couldn't have caused injury to your tongue. Vagina's don't have teeth or at least not until you marry one then they can have teeth but that is financially only.

Do what you want. Your test result will be negative as you were not at risk. Rather than wasting your time being tested for a disease you do not have, why not try and work out what is really making you ill?

6 in 10 chance from oral? That's flat out bullshit.

You were not at risk. You do not need to be tested.

At this point I'd draw your attention to our Welcome Thread and suggest you familiarise yourself with the posting guidelines for the Am I Infected? forum.

Continually posting about non risk situations will see you handed a 28 day time out from the forum.

If your skin is bothering you that is something to discuss with your doctor. For sure it has nothing to do with HIV.

You can also do yourself a favor and stop surfing the net for misinformation to fuel your fears. I can guarantee if you continue to do the net you are going to find lots of junk that will only increase your doubts and fears and all to no good purpose.

Cut it out and get on with your life. Really.

Idiot,

Regardless of your wish to not be timed out, I'm giving you one anyway. You've been told repeatedly that you were not at risk and WHY you were not at risk, buy yet you're still trawling for answers that support your fears. You need to take a rest from hiv on the internet.

Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.
