Hello,
My question is regarding an encounter i had a couple days ago. I met a traveller and we obviously had sex, it was a bit rough but i realized only after i got home that while he was giving me a handjob he must have broke the skin on the head of my penis because I have a large patch of raw skin that looks like a popped blister.
My question is during oral sex, and safe sex where I wore a condom, is there any risk there? I am unaware of his status, so it's hard to judge.
I just wanted to say I've read through posts to spare you another repetitive question but nothing seemed to match.

You did the only thing you needed to do in this situation - you wore a condom for intercourse. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.
Mutual masturbation is not a risk, even if it's rough and even if you got cum on each other.
Getting a blowjob is not a risk. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.
You do not need to test over this specific incident unless it's part of a routine, complete sexual health check up.
Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.
To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.
Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.
ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER THIS INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.
Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

i do have another question regarding a situation recently.
i was the bottom this time and there was condom breakage during sex. it was easy to feel for both of us that it snapped and he immediately withdrew and put on a new condom. but is there reason to worry or test over this situation.
he said his status was negative but i know some people do not disclose information truthfully in these situation because they don't want a meltdown.
what is the risk and do you think i should seek PEP treatmebt?

While having a condom burst IS a risk, it is not that high on the scale, especially since the two of you instantly realized what had happened and withdrew. Your sex was protected until the condom break, and it sounds as though there were precious few seconds of intercourse without protection.
I would not personally recommend PEP over this incident, but a prudent person would test in three months just to be certain.
Always make certain to A) use enough lubricant, B) make certain there is room at the reservoir tip, and C) make sure there isn't AIR in the reservoir tip. Used consistently and correctly, a condom should rarely fail.

I agree with Jonathan on this. PEP isn't warranted in this case. Just test at the appropriate time, and expect a negative result. That's what I'd fully expect under the circumstances.
