« on: November 26, 2011, 09:57:29 am »
I am getting these mouth sores ( beneath the tongue ) every week/15 days. These are very pain full. I am not able to take my food properly. Is mouth sores are side effects of ART. I am taking daily one pill of anti-oxidant for this.  Now I am Lamivudine+Nerapine+Stavudine combo daily two pills

Please help me?

Bunny, I've never heard of mouth sores being a side-effect. You should show them to your doctor or dentist next time you see him or her. There are tons of possibilities and we couldn't possibly responsibly tell you what yours are - sorry.

hI Bunny,
Nah i don't think they have much to do with the ART.  I've always gotten them even pre-diagnosis although not as frequently.  As my immune system started recovering from 250 to 666CD4'S i was getting them every other week.  Its been a while since i've had one.  knock on wood.  I know how painful they can be so i sympathize with ya

In short, probably (almost certainly) no. But it might be a sign of your immune system recovering especially if you started treatment with a low CD4 count.

Thanks Ann, Mikeyb39 & newt

I am confused with sudden arrival of these mouth sores in frequent intervals .
Now I am happy, as all you said my CD4 count is increasing

Thanks..
