I learned that Carl Willcox, known here as Capt. Carl, passed away last night.
He put up a valiant fight and was a joy to know. I will miss him.
Rest in peace.
Sadly,
Mark

I've been dreading this day.
Love you Carl. Hope you're at peace.
I don't know what else to say right now.

Sad is such an understatement. Nobody should have to endure what Carl did, and so young. This upsets me greatly. I will miss you, Carlita.

For the short time I met 1st Carl & Norm, I felt like I'm known him for a very long time, GOD SPEED, your pain and suffering is over, now you can rest FOREVER, Norm, my sincere condolence, in your hour of need, and to Carl's family :'(
-
This is devastating :-[. Carl was a fighter and had to endure so much. Still, he always found a way to make me laugh and lift my spirits when we had a chance to talk on the phone.
I will miss him dearly.
Much love to Norm and to the Captain's family during this trying moment.

I was just thinking about him again this morning and now I see the news of his passing. His courage in the final months was inspiring to our community and he will be lovingly remembered next week when we gather in Seattle. His passing is a poignant reminder to us all about the fragility of life and the endurance of the bonds of love and friendship (yes...they survive the grave even as it claims our mortal bodies.)
Rest peacefully and joyfully Carl. Condolences Norm.

There are some day's in this world that just fucking suck and today is one of them.
Like Ann I have dreaded this day for so long now, even though we knew it was coming it still comes as a terrible shock.
Carl I love you and I will miss you dreadfully, I will miss our phone calls, your wonderful sense of humor, your paintings and your stories of the man you loved so much, I'm just glad you were with him when you quietly passed away.
A good handful of people here have lost a great buddy today, my heart is with them all today, and of course Norm and Carl's family and their friend's are in my prayers.
Your pain is over Carl, and I'm so thankful for that, ours is just beginning.
Today is a bad day.
In great sadness
Jan :'(

My sincere condolences to Norm and all those who counted Carl as their friend...such sad news...those we have loved and lost are only ever a thought away...so always remember them.
-
Very sad, indeed....
What will always stand out for me was, no matter how much shit life was handing Carl, he was always more worried for Norm and others than he was for himself. He was a class act all the way -- I will miss him.
