Starting Over

Hello Everyone.

I moved to Oregon a year ago and I am HIV positive. I am married and have one child who is about to be twenty. She is kind of leaning toward carpentry as a career.

I love making things myself. I quilt and am learning to crochet. So far I have a single stitch beginner's scarf I am making.

Being forty I have sort of become boring. I wish I could get out and do more. Although I'm not sure what to do besides work. If anyone has ideas please let me know.

This week I go to Vocational Rehabilitation. I both broke my leg and had surgery last June. I now have a plate and five pins in my lower leg. I have pain and well that pain still limits me at times. At least the swelling has stopped. I am seeing improvements. Then I have scoliosis. At times my back hurts.

Despite what I wrote about my health I get around pretty well. I walk, bend, and stoop fine. It's at times my body decides to act up.

So I decided to come on to Poz and see if anyone lives near me or is interested in chatting. I am newish to Oregon. I have lived in Oregon a year. So far all I know is the mall and have seen one movie. With all this nature I feel like I am missing something.

So if anyone wants to chat or something let me know.

Hope everyone's New Year's Eve went well.

Thank for the reply.
I work alongside my daughter cleaning up or cooking meals. She turns twenty next Wendesday. Lately  I have been working with voc rehab to find work. I go to a class this coming week. I'm changing careers.
Hope you're having a good day.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you are doing quite well in terms of your social life. I know it's hard at first especially when you're at home all day doing work.
