I recently had a very high risk exposure with a prostitue,she gave me oral with a condom to no avail, so we proceed to have intercoarse for about 2 mins, when i came i pulled out only to notice a busted condom with blood on it, i washed off with hot soapy water and sebt her on her way,week later diareah for a week then a fever for 2 days  then i feel fine for 3wks then i noticed small white spots on my right palm that disappears with sweat orlotion, 2days later muscle tight only n my right thigh, 3 days after that pains that shoot through my joints, no sore throat no oral thrush, no body rash, defintely no lose of appetite matter of fact i eat more now than i did b4 this all haooened, i know symptoms dont mean a thing but this must b one hell of a coicedence,i wsitnh gor the 3mth window to test,cant take a false negative , any suggestions im always telling my friends to use protection cause i always do 200% of the time and the one tine i do sym stuoid shi.. this happens to me never has a condom broke on me till that faithful nite,mama said what u do n dark will come to da lite, feel like im staring down an amtrak train with da lites blinding my eyes good nite to u all....

All you can do it test. Your risk was on the lower end of the scale, but it was a risk nonetheless.

If it makes it easier, in my ten years on this forum I have never encountered a male insertive partner who tested positive after a condom break during intercourse. I have all the faith in the world you are going to be okay.

Thanks for taking the time out to read my post and give me those comforting words of advice, the whole incident freaked me out but the blood on my pecker freaked me out,going to get tested in two mths after the 3mth window is up, sorry for horrible spelling its tuff typing on a touch screen phone didnt know it was that bad until i read it for myself geesh its bad... If its one thing ive learned from this ordeal pos or neg is think with ur head that has ears a nose,and a mouth ,and if u think u had an exposure to hiv stay the hell away from google it will drive a sane man crazy good nite and thanks again.

The earliest you could test for hiv is at six weeks. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change.

Like Jonathan, I fully expect you to come out of this ok (blood on your pecker or no blood on your pecker) but you do need to test to make certain.

As a sexually active adult, you should be having a complete sexual health check up at least once a year anyway, regardless of whether you're having sex with a sex worker or a "girl-next-door" type or anyone in-between.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

i have a quik question, i know i still need to be tested but my question is ,is there a higher risk of becoming infected with hiv if u had sex with someone who is positive and da condom breaks while shes on her period, although the sex was no longer than 3_5 mins, the reason im scarred shitless is after the symptoms i was having went away ive been perfectly fine other than having pimples show up n weird places all over my body and a metallic taste on my tongue,no more body aches,headaches,diareahha,no fever and i was saying because ive heard after a person seroconverts they may not habe any problems for years, i know u all have stress that u all have never seen an insertive partner test positive after a condom break but ive read every condom break post on here from page 1-121 and no post is quite like mine where the condom fails during menestration and i pull out with a bloody pecker sorry for da winded post im just tryin to get my nerves up to go take this test

I do not expect you to end up hiv positive over this condom break incident, regardless of whether or not the woman was on her period.

Just go test and get it over with. You must be at the end of the three month window period by now, going by what you wrote in your first post.

Gather up your balls and go test. It's something you should be doing at least once a year anyway.
