Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Feeling bad (rough unprotected oral-3 times)

Straight to the point, I gave unprotected oral to three guys in a row in a bathhouse, and it was pretty rough (deep throat, etc.) They also ejaculated in my mouth, but I never swallowed any of it (I spit it out, didn't wash my mouth until like 5 min later). I'm extremely scared and regret doing all of this, and I have absolutely learned my lesson (i.e. this will NEVER happen again). Am I at major risk? I'm feeling so scared, since the oral was rough and I had a sore throat the days afterward, but went away after

AndyVelez or Ann, should I get tested in this situation? I'm scared, because about 3 weeks after the incident i had a sore throat and a slight fever for about 2 days

Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. And there is nothing even remotely HIV specific about the symptoms you are experiencing. If they continue, you should discuss them with your doctor.

Other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV, so we do recommend that anyone who is sexually active ought to regularly have a full STD panel done. That means at least once a year.

I don't see any need for HIV testing in this instance unless you  need the inevitable negative result just for your peace of mind.

Thank you so much for your response Andy. I tested negative for STDS and I took a HIV OraQuick Rapid test today at 4.5 weeks (earlier than 6 weeks, but I needed to for peace of mind). This came out negative as well. I may get one more test at a later time, thank you for your response again

You're welcome. Test if you must for peace of mind but it's really unnecessary. HIV is not your problem, thank goodness.
