Am I infected with hiv?
« on: November 21, 2013, 06:21:48 pm »
So i had sex with another male and i am also a male and I was the bottom. I always use condoms and so i did use condoms. As we were having sex, the condom fell off and we immediately stopped and the condom was disposed off. so 2 days later my stomach was making gurgling noises and almost 3 weeks later is still making these gurgling noises. Also 1 week after the encounter i had fever, felt tired and this was exactly 7 days after. Also i have noticed that i haven't  been eating as much. I don't have swollen lymph glands and i also don't have a rash or anything else. Could the symptoms really appear as soon as a week and is stomach gurgling a sign of HIV?

If his penis was inside of you without a condom then you had a risk . Sometimes when a man withdraws he slides out of the condom leaving it behind and the ring of the condom is outside the vagina or anus , that is not a risk because the insertive sex was protected .

If he was inside of without a condom you can test 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results . Remember to get checked out for all stds , some of them can be present without symptoms for a long time and they are much easier to get than HIV . We don't discuss symptoms because they are not specific to hiv , the only way to know your status is to test .

Remember to use condoms every time correctly and you will avoid HIV .

His penis was never inside me without a condom. However, idk why I am having these stomach rumbling noises even after 3 weeks. Is this associated with hiv? and I am awaiting my results from a fourth generation hiv antigen test which the nurse said is almost 95 percent accurate within 20 days.

You did not have a risk if a condom was used and remained intact , you would have known if it failed . Its not a risk for HIV .

no the condom did not fail and I wouldn't be worried but its just that my stomach hasn't stopped making rumbling noises which is what has me worried along with the other symptoms and I went to the doctor a week ago and he said that i had anxiety and i just dont know if thats true and by the way thank you for replying.

Well if the condom remained intact you can certainly cros HIV of the list of possible causes for your symptoms. Condoms actually prevent HIV moreso than other STDs.

This was absolutely not an HIV risk.
