Road map to HIV/AIDS cure to be rolled out in Manitoba

WINNIPEG — More than 75 of the top HIV/AIDS researchers from around the globe will gather in Winnipeg next week to lay out a road map for finding a cure for one of the world’s most deadly diseases.

The International Centre for Infectious Diseases (ICID), the University of Manitoba and the Public Health Agency of Canada will host the first International Symposium on Natural Immunity to HIV beginning on Sunday.

Heather Medwick, acting president and CEO of ICID, said the impetus for the three-day event was to bring together the best research minds in the world so they could bounce theories off each other.
