ANOTHER ATRIPLA THREAD
« on: April 27, 2014, 08:48:11 pm »
Hi All,

I started on Atripla treatment exactly 5 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks were particularly rough  with no energy, constant drowsiness and the drunken feeling as many describe lasting most of the day and around day 12 I developed a mild case of the Atripla Rash.. This subsided after about a week.

I haven't had any of the vivid dreams or trouble sleeping, quite the opposite. I find myself sleeping for 9+ hours every night. I have a bit of a erratic lifestyle and tend to eat on the later side of the night and of course take my pill 2 hours after I eat as I'm about to go to sleep. No problem getting to sleep (which is a blessing) but I do find myself so tired when I wake up and just wanting to sleep even more after sleeping for 9+ hours. At the moment I have time off work so it hasn't interfered but I know its going to soon be a problem when my old work patterns pick up again..

Does anyone have any experience with this reverse side of the side effect? I understand its still early days but at the moment my life is feeling like it revolves around the damn pill and my energy levels aren't the same. For the first time since being diagnosed (2.5 years ago) I actually feel it and am struggling with the fact that I was doing much more and had more of a life and energy before I started treatment..

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can read some of our experiences with Atripla in this thread ... it has some of the common issues and side effects as well as a few who have no problem with the med .

If you ever feel like you are certain that its the Atripla and it does not get better then you and your doctor can move on to another combo if need be .
