I just tested poz in june
« on: July 13, 2009, 03:14:53 pm »
I recently got back my western blot test from the orasure oral swab antibody test. It came back poz showing bands gp120,gp160, and p24 on it. So it was poz. I wasnt quite sure about it so I had a 2nd antibody oraswab test done at  another location and It came back reactive and they did a western blot on that. It came back positive with Gp120,gp160,p24, p65,  and p41 bands so it was positive. I got those results July 1st. So I have been postive since july 1st. I have a docotors appoitment at end of month for my CD4 count, Viral Load, and Genotype... but I dont have a job, and my unemployment for some reason is pay held status for 3 weeks now, and my food stamps went up but i have yet ot get medicaid... they want me to prove to them with my docotor i got it. So i am just sitting here waiting for time to go by.

Since i been positive, this month has been hard my glands in my neck swell daily and drain my energy and gives me fevers.

Hey sreamer, so sorry that you've been infected but I'm happy that you've found these forums for some support and information.  I see that you live in Akron, so I hope that you've been able to locate and AIDS service organization and obtain case management, as obviously with your financial situation and lack of insurance you will need a savvy person to help you navigate whatever is available in your particular state and locality.

Hi sreamer,
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis.  It is good you found this site, which can provide a ton of help.  Regarding your health, have you given your doctor a call about how you're feeling?  Maybe he can schedule an appointment with you sooner, esp since Medicaid needs proof from your doctor.
Be Well.
