Two of Our Past Gathering Spots

I guess I don't know which forum this belongs in, but next week I'm going to be in two of our past Gathering cities on the same day!

Wednesday night after work I'm flying to Boston to do so more bloodletting for the LTNP study at the Ragon Institute. I get in at 11ish local time, do a lab draw at 10am the next morning, then a leukapheresis at noon, and then I'll have 4 hours to kill before I fly to Las Vegas to meet Santi. We are going to visit my good friend Abbey whom we haven't seen in over 2 years. We got a good deal at the old Rat Pack-era Riviera (hoped they changed the sheets!)

Since I needed to go to Boston, and they are willing to fly me to a different destination than my departure city, and since we do not want to be trapped in our neighborhood by the American Grand Prix like we were last year, it's a perfect getaway. And my first two flights are on Jet Blue, so I shall take advantage of their TVs, or maybe their music channels + free sleep mask. Or maybe I'll just arrive bloodless and pissed, and ready to roll. Vegas, baby!

But no jumping off perfectly good buildings, this time. Saving that for our next outing with anniebc  ;)

I can't believe you are going to Vegas without me, but I still hope you have a good time, please say hi to Abby for me, I also hope you have a good babysitter for Ted, he hates being on his own  ;)

Say hi to Vegas for me!  I am returning there on Dec. 15 for four days...it is a good time to visit the Strip because the crowds are down and all the Christmas decorations are up. 

Enjoy Boston too!

I just found out a good friend from high school is in Vegas and works at the Tropicana. We're going to hunt her down, too. It's going to be great to go there and yet again meet up with old friends. I only wish you all were coming as well!

Yes I remember it well. and those cocktail they had in the big Stratosphere shaped glasses, I would love to see the lights of Vegas at Christmas...maybe one year.

I so wish I would have joined these forums sooner.  Never been to Vegas and would love to go there.  Who know?  Now that I'm no longer terrified of flying, perhaps a weekend jaunt?

I stayed with two friends at the Strat in late September and yes, we sat in "our" booth at my insistence!

I once again declined to leap off the top of the Tower.

Returning to Vegas the week before Christmas, but staying as I usually do at the Blue Moon.

I made it to Boston and then met Santi and Abbey in Vegas, now home but too tired to mess with posting a photo of our booth in the Stratosphere...but we did go and hang there for a bit! Now back to the healthcare grind at work tomorrow...

Now I have returned to the "scene of the crime" and will spend the next four days in Las Vegas.  This is a down week at work and even more down week in Sin City but I hope to be able to see all the casino Christmas decorations without the maddening crowds.  Will have to check out the Stratosphere to see if any of our AMG "ghosts" are still haunting the place!

I'm headed back to Vegas tomorrow to see Abbey and her new baby, baby daddy and puppy Bacon, and since Santi opted out this time I'm taking Abbey to see Lady Gaga on Saturday night. Hopefully we'll make it back to "our booth" at the Stratosphere! I always have a little lucky run with the slots right next to that booth, and this time around Abbey will be able to have a little tipple with me since she's not preggars this time  ;D

Well we didn't make it to the Stratosphere but I lost $$$ for 3 days until yesterday, when I started FINALLY winning! I got to spend time with Abbey's baby Noah and he was a treat! but they frown on bringing babies into the casinos, we learned (DUH, but it's not like he was gambling [just inhaling all the smoke.])  ???

We had a great time at Lady Gaga's ArtRave: The Artpop Ball, and I was often reminded of our memories here from a few years back. It was a fantastic trip that almost didn't happen between money issues and my new job, but it worked out.

I wish you could have all come with me!!
