what the heck is wrong with me

hI
let me just say God Bless u all or your patience and commitment.
I live with someone who is hiv positive
I had oral sex with him and  I knicked him with my teeth ( I was a little tipsy). He bled in my
mouth.  this happened twice about a year ago.   He is convinced I must be positive and i have not
been careful with sex since then.  I feel great, have no symptoms or anything
The whole question is haunting me......

thank u for your time

Although what you have described of that incident is not a risk, why live with uncertainty? Get yourself tested and know your status. I don't know what you mean by "not careful since then." The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you always use condoms for those you will be well protected.

We do recommend that anyone who is sexually active ought to at least once a year have a full STD panel done just as a precaution.

Get tested and get your status. Hopefully you have been worrying unnecesarily.

Hi Folks

I was already advised by you to get tested.  I have had repeated unprotected vaginal and anal
sex with my positive boyfriend beginning about a year ago when I accidently swallowed his blood and we
both believed, mistakenly as it turns out, that there was no turning back.

BUT  I just can't seem to get myself to go. I am not  a stupid person. But I seem to be in a
stupor about this. I am not necessarily terrified because I believe that since I haven't had any
symptoms, I must be negative right?
I really don't know what is wrong with me. I read the forums and I swear I know better.
Evan my boyfriend pleads with me to go
I honestly don't know what to do with myself.
I am hoping that in addition to thinking that I am an idiot, you can help  me

thanks

No,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

It's no good coming here to wring your hands over your lack of self-care - just go get tested. How can we make you do anything? If you don't care about your own health and welfare, I fail to see what we can do about it.

Get off the pity pot and just go test.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

No,

The ONLY wisdom we can give you is to say - stop wringing your hands and GO TEST.

If you cannot bring yourself to do so, I suggest you see a professional therapist face to face to help you get to the bottom of why you're neglecting your health and well-being. We simply aren't equipped to help you with that in this setting.
