Am i at risk? Anxiety + symptoms
« on: February 23, 2016, 12:57:19 pm »
Hi everyone, i've found your posts incredibly educational on this issue, i would just like to calm my anxiety regarding own experience.

I'm a gay male, and had my last sexual experience eight days ago (with a male) - status unknown, although he has said that he tests regularly and is clean.

The whole thing lasting about an hour - with no condoms/protection and no penetration.

We did heavy deep French kissing for a long time

We then took our clothes off and humped one another - rubbed our genitals together/mutual masturbation.

He very briefly performed oral sex on me - under five seconds (after i objected)

Alot of naked body rubbing with substantial genital-to-genital contact

He ejaculated in my hand - which i proceeded to wash off

we did not penetrate - no anal sex

Normally i wouldn't worry about this - although now eight days later i've developed heavy flu-like symptoms and skin burning feeling/numbness/joint aches/pins & needles all over my body. I have also developed severe anxiety which is affecting my day-to-day routine.

I went to a physician and got a tests done - although i don't know how reliable they'll be after only eight days.

Would appreciate any insight/advice

Thank you,

Hi , Absolutely nothing you mentioned was risk for HIV.
The virus is sexually transmitted through unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse.
There is no need for testing over this incident.
Here is what you need to know to avoid infection,

You need to be using condoms for all anal and vaginal intercourse until you are in a trusting monogamous relationship and both have been tested for all STDs and HIV.
Everyone who is sexually active should have an annual exam and test for all STDs and HIV ,and always after unprotected intercourse. Always using condoms will give you peace of mind your tests will return with a negative result.

Best , Wade

I agree with Wade … no risk what so ever. Please do not use the term clean to describe an HIV negative person … its to infer that those of us living with HIV are dirty and its offensive to use on a HIV website. No need to waste a post apologizing, I know you meant no offense.
Im just asking to not use the term clean to describe an HIV negative person on this site.

Thank you, really appreciate it.

And i do apologize for that mishap of words

Just a follow-up,

How reliable would my test results be, give that this incident was only eight days ago?

I'm also confused about the risks involving oral sex - some sources place it as a risk-free act while others categorize it quite highly on the risk scale - in my case i was the insertive participant.

Cheers,

You never had a risk so if this is you’re only concern in the last 3 months your test is conclusive that you do not have HIV. Getting a blow job is not a risk for HIV. The theoretical risk for oral transmission comes from GIVING a blow job to man with a high viral load while you suffer significant wounds in the mouth … its has only been documented a few times in 30 years and is more a theoretical risk than actual in nature.

Getting a blow job and cunnilingus are never risk for HIV.
