What is Safe Sex
« on: May 14, 2007, 09:56:53 pm »
I am HIV+ and my viral load is undetectable.  My bf and I have been having unprotected oral sex against the advice of my doctor, we do use condoms for anal sex however.  Has anyone infected their partner through unprotected oral sex????  How about passing the infection when being inserted anally where the bottom is HIV+ with an undetectable viral load???  Thanks

Basic answer: if you a receptive oral, extremely low risk for him, and no real documented cases.
If you are giving oral, avoid risky situations like bloody gums, bad mouth health, and shooting in his mouth.
For anal: use condoms. They are proven to work. If a condom breaks, then retreat , laugh and put a new one.

As for the undetectable vs detectable VL as a bottom, I will let others and experts answer that. But if your partner wears a condom, that's not a concern :)

According to my doctor...the only safe sex is sitting across the room from each other and masturbating while talking about it.....Not sure if that is what I would desire....As for me safe sex means dating me since I havent been laid since..well lets just say, paper hadnt been invented yet..... :'(

Safe sex is no contact. Safer sex is contact, with knowledge. I like safer sex. I don't like safe sex.

IMHO....

Safe sex is NO sex.

Safer sex is like going to the buffet and either just imagining how all the food will taste or eatting the food and realizing it has no taste.

Unsafe sex between two ADULTS that have disclosed .... that is going to the buffet, eatting and realizing that everything tastes 1000% better than you ever thought possible.

Run out to the kitchen and fix yourself a BIG drink. Then throw away those dental dams you were going to use for sex but just never got around to doing it.

If you are in need of a dental dam, you can always take a condom and cut it in half lengthwise with a pair of scissors... strawbeery flavored condoms are almost as good as strawberry jam... too bad that the chocolate condoms are so hard to find.  Here in Erie, there is a local chocolate company.. Romolo's, that makes the most delicious chocolate syrup that tastes good in almost any hole.
