I have had it with these stupid warning for posting on this section in specific
If anyone would like to stop me from posting then please close my account and I'll just view from the sidelines
I have felt so excluded from the rest of the posters here that I've simply said "HAD ENOUGH"
I'm tired of hovering over sections and considering whether I CAN or CANNOT post my opinions and whether or not I'm good enough to join in. I only lost my bf to this, not like I'm LIVING with anything of hiv
Tested 4 times all poz, not enough? You want my cd4, strain code, blood type before I can post here?
Forget it, I've had enough

GOOD BYE!

Sorry Zanark I really appreciated your help on nutrition, but you lost it and made serious unacceptable comments on AII that cannot be ignored. I don't know if you're infected or not, and I hope you are not. If you are, take a break from here, and come back in a couple of months when you give us the real story, and we'll be here for you :)

You know what makes me irritable...folks who continually threaten to leave the forums...we'll be here when you get back.

Hi there Zanarkand,
Sorry you're having a hard time here and questioning your self esteem ("whether or not I'm good enough to join in"). Perhaps it's your approach?
Not familiar with your posts or what this is about exactly, but I would suggest keeping an eye on those HIV mood swings. Those can be really nasty sometimes.
You recognise you're feeling irritable so that's a start. Just don't completely burn your bridges. You might regret it later on.

Well, you have got me confused. Just before your boyfriend died a short time ago, you PM'd me and stated you were not HIV+.
Nevertheless, you are welcomed here positive or not.........but we all have to follow some rules and guidelines. I sense an animosity that no one directed to you on a personal level but rather it's more a broad frustration?? It takes time to make acquaintances/friends on the forum but for the most part I have found people on this forum to be full of heart. Like the day you posted your boyfriend had died........lots of sympathetic responses that day.
xxx,
Mike

Too late, Mike. He's already been banned for making threats and calling people names & stuff.
Just banned by Andy.
-
Well that is a shame, but I guess his need to be difficult outweighed any good he could have achieved or gained in the forums. I hope he will be able to get some help from somewhere, whoever he was.

Just curious,
Where was the notice that this person was banned. Was it in a post?

It was in Am I Infected.
Zanarkland claimed to have tested positive on ELISA tests but this result was yet to be confirmed by Western Blot. He/she (I could never work out which) was unhappy about being restricted to the Am I Infected forum until/unless his/her status was confirmed.
There was also some evidence that Zan had not been entirely honest in his/her dealings with us.

In another thread in Am I Infected? Forum. Forget the title of it, but last post should be by Andy V and near the top of the AAI forum thread list.
I have a feeling he has already tried to return as a sock puppet.
Lot o' that going around lately.

Thanks for that . I don''t go over to the Am I Infected, so I didn't see that. Perhaps we need a sticky placed up to tell us about who banned members are, and if those individuals come back as someone else. This gets old/tired, real fast.

It's generally not a good idea to call someone a "f*ckface" on AIDSmeds.
I agree with JRE, I'd find it helpful to have a stickie somewhere that listed who was banned, on what date, and a link to the offense. I think would make folks more aware of what is not acceptable behavior, and there certainly seems to be quite a bit of lately unfortunately.

This whole sock puppet thing has gotten especially nuts on here lately!

If people are going to leave the forums, why make a post about it? Just leave... come back if and when you are ready. It really does make me laugh with the "goodbye cruel world" posts. Just go. We all need time out once in a while, no need to be a drama queen about it. Slip out the backdoor... so to speak.

I saw other forums where the title of "member" becomes "banned" when someone is banned. Maybe it's possible on here? Then go on the profile and look at the reason? I don't think that a who's who of banned people would help, but seeing "banned" or "time out" under the avatar would prevent people from responding or at least get an idea of what happened?
Milker (who hopes not to be banned before AMG :o)

Oh please... the "goodbye cruel world" threads are meant to shame the web board. Remember, it's OUR fault, not the others.
NEVER FORGET!
At one time I contemplated starting a "Goodbye Board" thread daily for a week during the CSI crap, but thought I might annoy people... and I hate being a pest you know.
-
Can banned members read the forums? Or they can't access at all?
Milker.

I was sort of wondering that myself lately becuase of one particularly troublesome former member that wouldn't leave.
Generally, I think banned members can still look in as guests. This one particular guy (now SURELY we all know who I mean here) required some real effort to remove from here. And I wondered if he was now blocked form seeing the forums altogether or what.
-
Quoting the SMF manual:
* Ban members based on their username, email address, IP address or hostname
* Support of wildcards for email address, IP address, and hostname
* Include a ban reason in bannings (viewable for the banned user)
* Include a ban note (only viewable by the admins)
* Chose between full ban, 'no post' ban, or registration ban
* Include an expiration time for bans
I wonder what the moderators chose.

I'm still "trying" to keep up the birthday list, but someone else is going to have to tackle the BANNED and TIME-OUTS lists....
;)

You should've seen it the other night when the vial pictures came out that were directed at three of us here! Oh, never mind, I won't bring that up anymore. :D :D
