New Numbers but still other "minor" issues

Got my labs today from my HIV doc. 
In Sept. my numbers were. 
CD4 - 484
VL - 304,000
% - I think was 15% or so.
Steady climb up since going on Prezista/Norvir/Truvada
Today's results.
CD4 - 781
VL - 170
% 22.3
NICE!@#!@#!@!!!
Testosterone is low, so starting Androgel, doc wanted me on Testim, but insurance wont cover it and it costs $300.00+ without.
All in all, good stuff.

   Wow numbers look great!  I would tell you to go jack off to celebrate, but until the Androgel kicks in that might be a problem.  Congrats!

Congrats on the new numbers!  Looks like you're coming along great!  Didn't you just go the doc yesterday?  I'm surprised you get your viral load so quickly - that's the one number that always seems to take forever after my blood is drawn.  Everything else is available the next day. 

Androgel and Testim are pretty similar.  My doc chose Testim for me as well because it has a somewhat better absorption rate - but they're pretty equivalent for the most part.  However, it does have a distinct smell to it.  One night I was out at a social function and a friend hugged me -- as he pulled away, he said "I know that smell anywhere.  Testim!"  (Androgel, as far as I know has no smell.) 

I grew tired of those tubes of gel quickly and have since switched to injectable testosterone - and I feel it's so much easier.  I just give myself an injection every two weeks.

Great response.  It continues to amaze me how quick and effective the meds are.  I know this isn't true for everyone and many have problems on meds.  But, I think about all those who didn't make it to see these amazing drugs.

Assurb, you are so right.  I certainly am feeling better as time goes on and I am more educated with this.
