Update... Acupuncture and Chinese herbs for insomnia
« on: October 07, 2009, 10:02:03 pm »
Hi everyone

It's been two weeks now since I first saw an acupuncturist and Chinese herb Dr. I'm very pleased to report that I'm sleeping better than I have in YEARS !!!  I sleep through the night, stirring occasionally and most nights sleep at least six hours. It seems miraculous to me as no 'western' Dr. had been able to help me with this.

I take two herbs twice a day after lunch and about an hour before retiring to bed. They are ground and I mix them with a little water and chug them down. They taste rather like celery, not bad really. My psychiatrist whom I see for well controlled bipolar disorder, seemed fine with the fact that I was seeing an 'eastern' Dr.

So, good news indeed !

Thanks to the folks who replied to my earlier thread. I found their encouragement and advice very helpful.

Cheers,

Paul

Hey, Paul.

That's GREAT news!  Glad to hear it!

Just curious, what are the names of the herbs you take?

Hi Sid

Thanks for the reply !  They are not herbs so much as they are medicinals. They are called  Zizyphus and Dragon Bone and they work wonders for me :-)

Paul
