Am I at risk

Sorry for the details but I really need some advice...  I had a one time encounter with a prostitute in Florida.  She stuck her finger in her vagina and pulled it out and put it in her mouth.  We barely kissed (almost like a lick) as I was just not into that.  I fingered her briefly as she gave me oral without a condom.  Then we had anal briefly... switched condoms and did vaginal sex.  We stopped and I took the condom off and she finished by a hand job with lots of her spit as lubricant.
I got a sinus infection with some flu like symptoms a week later and went on antibiotics and immediately had to have a root canal... a combination of two high powered antibiotics for another 10 days.  I have not felt well in over 3 weeks with hot cold flashes, muscles aches, insomnia and then thrush in the mouth with an itchy scratchy throat.  I am hoping the thrush is due to antibiotics and throat due to post nasal drip as it is still going on.  I have had HIV blood test at week 5 and 6 and both were negative.
I am scared to death I could have contracted HIV?   Was this high risk?

Hi Mac , I read all your concerns carefully and you did not have a risk for HIV .

There are proteins and enzymes in saliva that damage HIV and render it unable to infect so the finger in her vagina and the oral sex wasn't a risk .

HIV is acquired sexually from unprotected vaginal or anal sex , you used condoms so there was no risk there either .

The hand job was safe sex and you need not worry because saliva isn't infectious .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

Jeff G.  Thanks for your reply and expertise...  they are soothing words to someone who is scared out of their mind with worry.  I look forward to a negative result to my PCR test in a few days.

You can relax , the window period for testing is 6 weeks past exposure and again at 3 months to confirm your results , Since you never had a risk you can count your 6 week negative HIV test as conclusive that you are HIV negative provided that you didn't engage in unprotected vaginal or anal sex within 3 months of your 6 week test . 

If I thought you had even the slightest risk I would have told you so ... its safe to put this behind you and move on .

Good news my PCR test came back this morning and it was negative....  I have learned from this mistake and will never repeat such behavior.  It is not worth the stress and anxiety I have put myself through!

We're glad to hear about your negative result although it is not a surprise here. As Jeff told you there never was a for real risk for HIV in the situation you reported.

Just to reiterate, all you need to do to protect yourself from the sexual transmission of HIV is to always without exception be wearing a condom properly for vaginal or anal intercourse. Yes, it really is that simple. 

Other STDs are easier to acquire so we do advise anyone who is sexually active to at least once a year have a full STD panel done.
