Unused meds Living in BKK any advice how to donate them?
« on: December 01, 2012, 11:37:39 pm »
Hello again, I'm living in BKK. Now I'm happily on NVP+Truvada but before I was on Aluvia(Lopinavir/ritonavir). I have about 25 days supply of Aluvia left unused, just sitting there at my house. So any ideas how I can donate so that others can use it, after all it is an expensive drug.

Anybody in BKK know a place for meds donation, please let me know.
PS. there are 4 bottles, one of them was opened but the rest are still in their original packages.

THANKS

You might want to contact the various ASOs, clinics and hospitals in your area and ask them. From what I've read from other members posting from Thailand, the Red Cross is involved in hiv care there and I think they'd be the first people I'd contact.

You probably won't be able to do anything with the opened bottle, but the ones that are still sealed are a different matter.

Have a look at the world-wide directory at aidsmap for ideas of who to contact. http://www.aidsmap.com/e-atlas

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

You're welcome. If you find somewhere that will take your unused meds, please let us know so others can learn of somewhere they can also send unused meds.
