I haven't watched at all as I got caught up in Helix, and Bitten.

The first night of Bitten when Nick was shown in the middle of a menage a trois is what made me tune in again....though they are obviously going to make you wait for it...as the next episode barely showed any of those hunky werewolves without there shirts on....

God those two last episodes were a mess.

Also I though Fiona was gonna cut her daughter and fly to Paris in the bloom of beauty.

Last night's was so over the top incredibly sick.  But in a way you could not turn off.  Jessica Lange was so over the top.  The siamese twins and the killer clown and the tiny lady in the birdcage, unbelievable.  Kathy Bates as the bearded lady was great.  I can't not watch next Wednesday.

First of all, Elsa’s tent is some sort of crazy gay paradise. It’s a cross between a Chanel store dressing room, Elaine Stritch’s apartment at the Carlyle, the genie bottle from I Dream of Jeannie, and a sex club for Berlin twinks. I would never leave. The All About Eve way she said “He has to go” after seeing her name at the bottom of a poster was priceless.

It's sooooo camp.  The script and performances are over-the-top, pulpy, hammy, and fetching, watchable - often times like Hammer Horror and also 30's horror movies and even silent movies.
I don't get into it sober.  When I'm stoned and crank the volume its a fabulous freak show.  Music, jokes, hilarious accents, that set decor and costumes.

Hey speaking of the scary clown, when Mondrake decided to take him as one of his own, I really felt bad for the clown, you know seeing his past and how he was jerked around and made to feel like a pedophile with the kids, until he tried to shoot himself, and failed at that.

I find myself attracted to Elsa's songs though, maybe it's the German accent. LOL

The dwarves were nasty -- but did the show make it clear that Twisty wasn't a pedo?

I loved loved loved Twisty's voice.

I would like the pin-heads to speak more. I'd like to hear more totally fucked up accents.

I am not convinced by Twisty's replacement - how can they make him interesting in the episodes to come - because the spoilt rich emasculated mama's boy wasn't constructed with much intrigue and we already know everything about him I'm guessing. Its kind of lame to become a serial killer starting with that situation.  I mean, what's his big trauma?  And where is mama - Frances Conroy is a star -- doesn't she get more screen-time than this?

It was good that Twisty was a blank slate until his death episode.

By the way, the giant lady... Is she also hermaphrodite?

Angela Bassett's character needs more intrigue.  Nothing there yet.

When the mama's boy who is replacing the old clown brings the gay hustler back to the hideout and puts on the mask...well that was TOO much.  The hustler was very cute by the way.  And when mama's boy goes home covered in blood to mommie that was a sight!  And yes, hearing Elsa sing is quite a trip.  And showing how she lost her legs was quite sick indeed.

LMAO Jeff, I love your little quips. I kind of felt sorry for Elsa in the prior episode where Mondrake basically told her she couldn't sing...she turned a little crazy with her dagger throwing, and now we know how seal guy dies, I wondered how that weird guy and Emma Roberts were going to get him in a jar of formaldehyde... and what's with that weird guy, in two episodes ago, his freak quality is a large penis...based on the escort's reaction.

As for momma's boy, can't stand the little brat, he's such a liar, and throws little hissy fits when things don't go his way....and then when the server comes out with the dome of condoms, and he says he like Dora better...well dumb ass shouldn't have killed her.  I don't get why the mother keeps protecting the little shit, give me a break.

Oh, and by the way, yes I downloaded, "Life on Mars" and "Gods and Monsters" by Elsa!  Wondering which one she is going to be singing from Nirvana...

Speaking of freak shows, what beautiful ageing legend guest stars on Elementary this season?  I watched for several minutes convinced she's Rachuel Welch with stunning work. Then I slapped myself and said come back to earth, this must be another generation and settled on Gina Gershon. Not convinced, I considered Cindy Crawford.

Speaking of make up, Freak Show should win an award for the transformations this year. With Elsa alone it's already mind-boggling.

I am a bit surprised that none of you who think about playing "handy dandy" haven't mentioned his bath shot showing his butt. Really Willy, I expected something from you, maybe mecch...

I just saw his butt again on the last episode which I just watched.
i thought his first denuding several episodes ago, was very dirty minded camera work and direction, bravo.  I felt dirty after that scene.

Overall this season is a mess but all the details are great.

Finn Wittrock is doing a fine job as a southern boy with very polluted blue blood but now I know he's from an arty new england background via julliard he looks like that type to me.  He was the hustler on Masters of Sex, by the way.

These weeks its all about Jamie Dornan on The Fall, a VILE piece of trash British series with pretty actors.   The director and casting agent make a good joke hiring Colin Morgan, newly grown up and getting handsome, to play a cop against Dornan's maniac because they are sort of fun house Black Irish mirrors of each other.

Also getting my high forehead brilliant nosed Tom Mison in glorious HD before Sleepy Hollow is cancelled.  Which it deserves to be.  But pretty stars and nice art direction.

As I mention in the other thread (new series), if ripped twink is your thing, get a sniff of "creme"filled Nick Jonas in The Kingdom...

I am a bit surprised that none of you who think about playing "handy dandy" haven't mentioned his bath shot showing his butt. Really Willy, I expected something from you, maybe mecch...

smh - so disappointed  :-\

Well yes, Dandy's butt was "a dandy" but I've been spoiled by Evan Peters's butt shots over the years, he's bared it 5 times in AHS and yes im counting.  The best Butt shot ever in AHS was last seasons.... Thank you Evan, goddamit thank you.

This season is so scattershot...  Elsa seems to shift scene to scene between cynical and deluded murderess and loving mother surperiour of the beatified pure souls of freak show.
I am so confused because I thought Pepper was killed in the beginning - wasn't some pin head hauled to county jail and killed there? I thought it was pepper.
Now they tied Pepper to Asylum. It was a bit interesting and touching. I was VERY SHOCKED to see the time jump to see Elsa Mars on the cover of the magazine as a long running TV variety hostess.  WTF!!!!!????   Ok first that means pepper was banging her head against the wall for several years.... Before that freaky nun took pity? (I am remembering her many freakouts and total breakdown in Asylum with awe.)
And also, Elsa is going to be a success in Hollywood?  I mean, WTF!!!!   Well she has been trying to take care of her freaks in a kind way for about 2 episodes.  But I was pretty convinced that the series was showing her to be a deluded over the hill chanteuse.

Also, preserved lobster hands.

Also, some truly shitty writing and direction and performances.  Emma Roberts wins this episode's bad acting award.

Mecch,

It was Meep that went to the county jail, the one that bit the heads off of birds, not Pepper.

I'll have to watch the episode again, apparently I must have missed Elsa being a hostess on the magazine as I was just watching the story of Pepper with interest, I do like the way they tied the two stories together in a way, gives Asylum a little more meaning.

That crazy nurse asks her to straighten the magazines and one of the last shots is Elsa with the headline, something like "Elsa Mars Stlll Rules Friday Nights"
Pepper recoginizes her and puts Elsa's "everlasting goodbye kiss" to her forehead.

I am honoured to say that since my husband had to unexpectedly go to his family at Christmas, while I had to stay here and work, I am totally caught up on this season! First time ever. And after I caught up, I turned to season 3 of Six Feet Under. I stopped watching when I lost cable and HBO and home in 2002. I kinda love how I'm seeing Frances Conroy and Kathy Bates in everything I like to watch!

But seriously, please post more ass-GIFs.

Lady Gaga to join AHS for season 5!... "Details about the premise of season five are being kept under wraps. But the season's subtitle is typically announced during PaleyFest in March."

In other news, Meep died again. This time for real. The quirky AHS star Ben Wolfe died from a head injury after being hit by a side mirror on a passing car. RIP Ben.

Ok, so AHS has started again, and I didn't realize that Jessica Lange was no longer going to be a part of it....as much as I like Lady G, she can't really take the place of Jessica Lange...I'm still trying to figure the premise of this "Hotel" thing...so far it's reminding me of Stephen King's "The Shining." Anybody else feeling this way?

I thought it was pretty fabulous. I LOVE Ms. Lange & nobody not even Gaga as fierce as she is can replace Ms. L, but I liked the Hotel premiere the pace was good & it was kind of a cross between The Shining (which is one of my favorite movies) & Silent Hill. And seeing Matt Bomer is always a plus  :-* Ms. Kathy Bates was on point as always, liking her a lot more than her role last season in FreakShow.

I missed the first seasons of AHS I only started watching with Coven, & of the ones since, Coven has been my favorite, & Freakshow was ok but just not as good. But I loved the Elsa Mars role it was so Marlene Dietrich-esque.

I enjoyed Hotel's premiere a lot more than Freakshow's.

It seems a little bit "the hunger" and a little bit "the shining"

I've tried to watch every season but within 2 to 3 episodes, I couldn't stand the show anymore. However for me, season 1 Murder House was simply the best. (Season 2 Asylum was almost ok. ;) ) I really wished the show had remained more like the first season, and this season is kinda bringing back that vibe.

ps I was watching the premiere during a stint with a 102 degree fever most of that night, so who knows what I really really think about this season yet. LOL
