I'm going through a little bit of a punk renaissance at the moment and saw a mention of it in one of the living with topics so I thought i'd start a little tribute to it here. So come on everyone share your favourites!
The Damned - New Rose

I HIGHLY suggest Gogol Bordello! A sweet gypsy-punk band...if you saw Everything is Illuminated...they are in the movie, on the soundtrack AND Alex is one of the main characters.

I don't know if there are any videos... but I fucking love The Slits.
Has anyone seen Derek Jarman's Jubilee?
It had Jordan in it... as Amyl Nitrate.

I like a punk influence but I can't say I listen to true punk. This is one of my alltime favorite punkish songs:
Romeo Void Never Say Never http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkBe_whzpCI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkBe_whzpCI)

That Fall song is amazing i've never made the effort to get into The Fall. I think it's actually a criminal offence around these parts! Any advice on where to start they've go soooo many albums I know they've just released sort of a Best Of album. That may be the place to start i'm thinking.
-
The Cramps live at Napa State Mental Hospital.

I got to smack Lux Interior's ass at a show a couple years ago.
It was like touching God.

How ON EARTH did they get away with that!
-
How ON EARTH did they get away with that!
They're the Cramps!
Natch.
And probably the same way they got away with getting a preschool choir to sing "people ain't no good" as backup singers on the song of the time same from the "A Date With Elvis" LP.

I have loved the Fall since I was a teenager listening to college radio in Boston. Their album Palace of Swords Reversed is probably best for their early stuff, including their classic Totally Wired
I'm not shilling or spamming, but here's Amazon's link to the album:
http://www.amazon.com/Fall-Palace-Swords-Reversed/dp/B000007WQN/sr=1-1/qid=1172179506/ref=sr_1_1/002-0039656-4617604?ie=UTF8&s=music
And here's a live vid for Totally Wired:

The more obscure the Fall gets, the more I love 'em.

You think thats bad theres a Band in Manchester called The Young Offenders Institute and they got a bunch of kids to sing "skin up for the acid man"!

It was awesome! He was wearing a rubber suit and kept sticking his butt out, so my friend Jennie and I were like, "he clearly wants us to smack his ass."
And we did. It ruled. I thought Poison Ivy (his wife and the guitarist) would kill us, but she merely looked amused.
I was also one of five people in the 9:30 Club who got his John Agar references.
I watch too much MST3K.

Maybe these are a tad too Post-Punk, but are still delicious:
Altered Images Dead Pop Stars:

The Specials Concrete Jungle:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns0u8MVesaQ
Lene Lovich Bird Song:

Specimen: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang:

I shall probably get some flack for these last two, as they are rather more "punky" than punk.

I've had the best night listening to all these songs who ever invented youtube is a genius.
Edited to add Teenage Kicks lyrics:
Are teenage dreams so hard to beat
Everytime she walks down the street
Another girl in the neighbourhood
Wish she was mine, she looks so good
I wanna hold you wanna hold you tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
I'm gonna call her on the telephone
Have her over 'cause i'm all alone
I need excitement oh i need it bad
And she's the best, i've ever had
I wanna hold you wanna hold you tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
I wanna hold you wanna hold you tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
