Title: The Quad
Post by: xman on June 18, 2012, 01:04:38 pm
I was reading in the treatment section all the details available of this drug and I have some questions. Aside the fact that it doesn't contain Sustiva but a new integrase inhibitor what are the difference between the Quad and Atripla? From a safety point of view the list of possible side effects is quite the same as of Atripla. The kidney problems are not solved and for those who cannot take medicines with impact of kidneys this is not an option.

I was then looking for resistance issue. If someone is resistant to an NNRTI like Truvada would this drug help to keep the vl undetectable? I guess not since it contains the same 2 drugs present in Truvada.

To put it very straight, what are the real advantages of this drug for patients?

It doesn't contain Sustiva. That's about it really.

Is this something that I could switch to if I have the K103N mutation?  I plan on asking my doctor next month when I see him, but was wondering if anyone here knew.  I'm resistant to efavirenz and nevirapine.

I'm currently on Truvada/Norvir/Prezista.
