Unprotected sex one time - young and scared, please help

Last week I had unprotected sex with another man (I only topped for less than 10 minutes with neither of us ejaculating) and I’m terrified. This normally isn’t like me, but I Did ask his status and he said he was both negative and on prep. However, I noticed that there was previous ejaculate from someone else inside of his rectum that I touched with the head of my penis (uncircumcised) and I freaked out. I test regularly and will be getting tested again next month. What are my chances of contracting HIV in this scenario?

Semen in his rectum or not, unprotected intercourse is a risk. He could have tested this morning and all it would reflect is if he wad negative some 13 weeks ago due to the window period on the tests. So no good to you at all.

You had a real risk and so testing is advised, guidelines are to test at 6 weeks past any incident and then at 13 weeks to confirm the result. Remember to also test for easier to transmit STI's

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

I know I made a really stupid mistake, and I know I’m in a high risk situation. I just didn’t know if I should be concerned about the semen i touched inside of him, since i can’t find any information on that.

Dude it was a risk, the only reason for the risk was you had your penis up his backside without a condom so it did not matter what else he had up his backside.

Why wonder and look for an answer to something that simply does not matter or change the outcome.

Its simple, you had a risk as unprotected intercourse is how HIV is transmitted, so go test as per guidelines and than move on with your life. Learn and use condoms and lube next time.
