Dating since being diagnosed Positive
« on: October 21, 2006, 08:06:17 pm »
Hello,

I am a 35 yr. old, black man living in Memphis, TN.  I received a positive diagnosis on August 10, 2006.  I have pretty much kept a positive attitude since receiving this new chapter in my life.  I didn't date much prior to finding out about my status but now I have being feeling quite lonely lately and would like to have a special guy in my life.  I am not looking for intimacy right now, but just someone to do things with.  I have an ad running on this site but haven't received any responses.  I am a fairly handsome guy who works and has his stuff pretty much together. I would prefer to meet someone who is in the Memphis, Tennessee or surrounding areas.  Basically, I am attracted to black guys, but will consider all other races. If any of you are interested and would like to open up a dialogue then hit me up.

Sounds like you pretty much put your ad on here... :D  I wish you luck on your search for a mate. Just curious, are you looking for a poz or neg mate? I know you are gay, not trying to put the mack down but was curious and the only dumb question is the one not asked. I would also like to add since you are just finding out, why don't you take some me time? You seem to be taking it quite well, not criticizing but just saying. When I found out, I was going through it, not even going to mention how. Good Luck on your journey and welcome to the forum.

Hello Queen,

Thanks for your response.  It does not matter whether the person is positive or negative - I am just looking for a friend to hang out with.  As I mentioned earlier, I am not looking for intimacy right now.  In response to your comment about "Me Time" - I took three days after finding out my status to grieve, cry and express my thoughts. I am not the type of person who look at things in a negative way even though they may be really bad.  I have this bug now, so I need to move forward with my life and I am ready to share it with that special someone.

Hey Positivelyyours,

I just wanted to stop by and wish you the BEST in your search for that special someone. When the time is right, that person will come along. Also, you may want to hit up a few places during happy hour and do some socializing. You would be surprised as to the connections you can come up with.

Make the BEST of each Day!

Ok, I was wondering because how you said it was like you found out and moved on. So you did the grief thing, good for you, I wish I had your motivation in the beginning. I hope you find the man of your dreams!
