No surprise there but a negative result is always a happy thing.

Breathe and get on with your life. And remember to always use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse.

Just a general health matter it does seem to make sense to find out what is causing your swelling, doesn't it? You may have an infection of some kind which needs looking at. I can't help wondering if you're so desperate to give oral that you're willing to overlook a health problem.

As far as risk for HIV, unless you have a fresh and gaping wound in your mouth, no I would not consider you to be at risk for HIV through giving oral.

hello,

i recently hooked with a girl and we were about to do the deed when i realised that neither of us had protection. the girl then suggested that i still penetrate her and just pull out when i am bout to reach orgasm. you can imagine being a hot blooded male i was tempted but i didnt go through the "did she give me hiv" drama again. i declined and just went down on her. now i would like to know if pulling is a safe to avoid getting hiv? what about pregnancy?

Alone,

While pulling out (known in some circles as coitis interruptus, or the "withdrawal method") can sometimes prevent pregnancy (although precum can also contain sperm), it will NOT prevent hiv or other STIs.

WITHDRAWAL WILL NOT PROTECT YOU AGAINST HIV!!!

It won't protect her either - and she's MUCH more at risk, being the receptive partner. The receptive partner is always more at risk for hiv and other STIs.

You were wise to resist temptation - you did the right thing. I can only hope this young woman also gets wise before she ends up with an unwanted pregnancy, or an unwanted STI or even hiv - if she hasn't already. She's playing with fire when she encourages men to use the withdrawal method in place of condoms and sooner or later she WILL get burnt.

The withdrawal method only has a place in a securely monogamous, STI-free relationship where the partners don't necessarily want a child, but aren't too worried if they do get pregnant. It is an unreliable form of birth control at best, but it is absolutely NOT a means of STI or hiv prevention.

Before you ask, you were not at risk for hiv infection when you went down on her. You also weren't at risk if she returned the favour and gave you a blowjob.

There are only two proven ways of preventing hiv infection. One is what you wisely did - abstain from anal or vaginal intercourse. The other way is to use a condom for intercourse.

You can be as much of a hot-blooded stud as you want, just make sure you use condoms or if you don't have one with you, abstain from anal or vaginal intercourse.

As an adult with an adult's immune system, you cannot get HIV from breast milk. Only infants with an underdeveloped (or no) immune system are at risk.

This is most assuredly NOT an HIV situation.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
