my  story is  a  long  one  so  will  just ask  basics  i  had  a  hiv test  in january 2011 due  to  becoming  ill  in  october  2010 have  suffered  with  oral  thrush  since  october  no  trestment  works  tested  5 times  upto febuary this year tests  still  negative any  advice  please

Provided you have tested for hiv at or after three months following your last incident of unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, then you do NOT have hiv.

If treatments for oral thrush are not working, then you probably do not have oral thrush. Even doctors can get a thrush diagnosis wrong - the only way to get a definitive thrush diagnosis is through biopsy and testing the sample.

You may not even have had a risk for hiv in the first place. What, other than feeling unwell, prompted you to test for hiv?


Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

ive  been  unwell  since  2010  it  started  with  coating  on  my  tongue  then  a  really bad throat  diagnosed  oral  thrush sickness  diarrhoea  high  white blood  count  and  raised  neutrophils  had  6 hiv  tests all  negative  but  still  having  the  symptoms  bad  headaches  mouth  problems  nausea  and  diarrhoea  could  i  really  have  hiv

Once again I have had to remove your thread from a part of the forum where you're not supposed to post. This time you posted in the Mental Health forum. Please stop doing this. If you continue, you will be permanently banned. I don't think there's much we can do for you anyway.

You do not have hiv. If you continue to feel unwell, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv. You have conclusively ruled hiv out as a possible cause.

If you cannot accept that you do not have hiv, please see a qualified therapist. We cannot help you here.
