No longer a newb

Hi all. Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for your support. I've been on treatment for over a year now, things are going well and I have adjusted to the thought of having HIV just fine.

When I tested positive, I was in the hospital with esophageal ulcers and strictures. It was closed up so tight I couldn't even swallow a pill. My ID Doctor put me on a liquid regimen to get me back in shape. I started out with a cd 4 of 48 and vl around 220k. In about a year and a half, I'm UD, with a cd 4 of 504 and my percentage at 26.

I was finally able to have my esophagus dialated enough where I can now swallow pills. My doctor suggested Odefsey because it should work fine for me and is the smallest one a day pill on the market. Tonight was my first night taking it. Omg, it was so nice not having to drink four nasty tasting meds.

Anyways, I'm doing fine and want to let anyone know that they should never lose hope. I wasn't the worst off, but I was bad. Now I'm perfectly healthy.

Congratulations on your remarkable recovery!  You've come a long way and it's great to share your story for all the "newbies," so that they can see that adherence to medication is crucial to living a long and healthy life, no matter how dire things may seem at diagnosis.

Best wishes to you as you start your new regimen.
